It’s all about the shiny

2. If you like Rufus Wainwright, try Ed Harcourt. Plus, you know, he’s got this new video which makes me about 30 kinds of happy.

*Pete is the new Whitney. Really. He used to drive the sweetest old school car, with the exception of Chloe’s and now they have him in a red Camero? (But next week it’s blue – cos you know exploding cars will have to be replaced) Y’all, for a moment, when he and Clark were flying over hill and dale, and they showed us the under carriage of the car, did anybody – just briefly – hear the Dukes of Hazzard theme, or was that just me?
*Lana has a father named Henry Small
About him, I don’t care at all
But sadly the writers do
Which gives him a second or two
Before he takes a permanent trip in the fall
-Seriously, somebody is going to get wacked in May. If they won’t toss her, make it him.
**And then there’s Lex.
My beautiful, valiant, foolishly young Lex. If ever there was an episode that made me think that Lex is too good for Clark why yes, this would be it. Of course, it also reminded me that a) Clark is most definitely just sixteen. Behaviour such as his, well, temper temper anybody? b) Lex is still very young as well. For all the tough talk, dude, he was hurt, and who the fuck could blame him?
He still wants approval, and it drives him mental when he doesn’t get it. He loves Lionel even though he really doesn't want to, and that’s just gotta fucking hurt cos he’s a bastard of the first degree.
While were on Lex, how many of us were thinking that if Clark had been anybody else, Lex would have delivered a SFD (Smackdown of the First Degree) when Clark tried to get on the Holier-Than-Thou-Bus (TM)
*Lex Corp, we hardly knew ye.
*Who let Dominic out the trunk?
But you know, I really dug this episode. It gets three and a half slices of Velveeta. The half is for putting Lex in that hot blood red shirt.

This ep, with the Clark and Lex fight, did highlight better than anything else just how big those six years between Clark and Lex are. Clark reacted like very much like a 16 year old. Wrapped up in his own issues that he doesn't stop to think 1)asking Lex might be better than accusing him esp. accusing him of setting up Jonathan 2)that Lex's father is in the hospital. Lex reacts like the grown-up in the relationship and tells Clark to take a step back...and it is so love, because otherwise he would have told Clark to take a flying leap. Poor woobie.
I did dig the fight though. And the whole cold shoulder thing cut my heart out and then rubbed it in salt. I mean, that's what it's gonna be like one day. With the I don't know who you are riftiness. *retreats to
