Ari alert!

My mind is a bit foggy from the weekend, but Jesus fuck, if it weren't for [livejournal.com profile] kattiya I would've completely forgotten:

Tonight on The Travel Channel:
Jeremy Piven's Journey of a Lifetime: India
Airing at 9pm EST/PST (repeating at midnight)<-- check your listings
Do not be forgetting to watch this, people.*

*There will be a test in the morning.

** Look at the images from the viewing party!

The pic with the monkey is totally my favourite. Must remember to watch this.

Heh - thank you for the subtle reminder.

[identity profile] burntcopper.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
... The monkey pic somehow has Ari saying to me 'smarter and more dependable than 90% of my clients. Second only to George.'

I think that's the perfect caption.

mmm Jeremy Piven

oh crap I almost forgot too. Thanks

I totally almost forgot too. This is the reminder. If I still forget, I can be fired. Or shot.

I like Piven and all but the fact that people like him and Cameron Diaz and their friends get free trips to amazing places just because they're celebrities makes me mad. I'm so sick of this celebrity worship--okay, sorry, this probably isn't the journal to say that in!

I think Lifetime is an interesting choice of networks though.

Lifetime? man, did I read that wrong. Travel channel is more like it. duh.

No, no, no, come back. I whole-heartedly agree with you on this. It kills me that people who can actually afford all this shit get it for free. As for the celebrity worship angle, it's interesting to me in that whole car-wreck type of way. I do admit to being truly amused by the horror of people being famous for fuck-all, because really, if the people who deserved the fame actually got it, we'd all be writing Noble Prize-winners slash. Sadly that's not how society works. That being said, I do like George Clooney's material, and a lot of the time I find what he has to say amusing, but I tend to prefer mockery to worship. I don't worship anyone. Except maybe Ari, but he's fictional, so that's with a grain or ten or salt.

I hope I have the Travel Channel. I have a dentist appointment tonight, and curling up afterwards with a nice soothing drink and watching Piven for a bit sounds theraputic indeed. Thanks for the PSA.

Hope things go okay at the dentist!

*whimpers* thankyoulordforari.

And thank you lord for Z reminding me to watch this tonight.

YAYARI!*

*That totally sounds like a tribe of some sort. The Yayari are a small, tightly wound group of people with zero morals. They tend to curse profusely, drink to excess, insult everyone, and will stab you in the neck if you look at their clients the wrong way. They are, however, loyal and tremendously amazing. In that car-wreck sort of way. Also, never say the word 'George' around the Yayari, as apparently 'George' is the spouse of the Yayari god, Ari, and mentioning George can illicit any number of responses from love to a knife to the throat.

Thank-you so very much for the reminder! Gah. I forget everything awesome. I'm all for more Piven. Especially when he's looking oddly contemplative with monkeys.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I cannot wait. Yis.

[identity profile] plumtastic.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if I'm watching it tonight, but I *am* taping it...on the same tape as Bourdain. Two great tastes that go great together.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as you see it. *says silent prayer that it doesn't suck the big one.* Actually, I confess that I'm not expecting it to be good, or quality, but I do think I will laugh inappopriately during the entire thing

You know, I think I *will* watch this tonight. Thank you for posting about it!

Also? That first pic rocks. Someone should make a layout featuring that pic.

I can't wait to see it :)
