Aww. Damn! You're making me all verklempt. I haven't even posted anything new in days. Probably will tonight or tomorrow, though, after Hall's beta'd. She's trading legal briefs with the git faced lawfirm from hell right now, though, so she may be a bit longer than usual with her beta. You'll like this next part, I think. There's a thing in there that still makes me laugh every time I think about it, and I've been working on the idea for weeks.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! It's definitely doing my ego good.

how could i not pimp you to everyone i know, i haven't been this excited about anybody's long work since god only knows when? it's actually going to be finished as well! (i reserve a cold place in the sixth circle for WIPs that last months).

you are fab, long may you write!

Wow, that's really high praise. ::blushes::

I think it will be done within the next two weeks, actually. Or the first draft will be, anyway. I'm almost always really, really good about finishing things. I have a somewhat obsessive personality with a side order of stubborn, both good traits for a novelist to have.

And I too loathe long WIPs. I would never post something in progress anywhere but my public notebook. I change things too much for one thing. Whenever this goes up on a site, it will be in it's final, edited, that's it, it's done version.

It's looking increasingly likely that I'll be writing in the Silververse again, though. I'm having too much fun. Got to get that novel rewrite finished though, so it will probably be December or January before I start working on that. Then I can work on my next novel and the Silververse at the same time and I'll feel like I'm being productive. As it stands, my agent would kill me if she knew I'd set the rewrite aside to spend six weeks working on a fanfic, but it's actually been a really positive thing. I've gotten so much kind feedback (like yours, thanks so much) that I'm feeling really up about my work again. But she'll never know, anyway - bwahahaha.

don't worry, we won't tell her, though i think it's important to take a break every now and then. i know it may not seem very prudent, but it's good to clear your head and do something fun - all work and no play can wreak havoc on the imagination.
