Less of a meme and more of a youyou

(gacked from [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch)

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

My personal goal is: to get over my writer's block, write my Obscure Santa thingy, and perhaps do something illegal this weekend.

I aim high.

The very first celebrity I ever met was Don Ho. He wasn't wearing a Hawiian shirt, but flannel. It was in Indiana in January and about -10F outside, so I guess he was allowed.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2003-12-12 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Bloody hell, -10? And I thought it got cold back east, which it does, but I bet to you guys that'd be like spring, huh?

I read everything you read except the Smallville stuff, but I rarely comment as I was once laughed at for too much enthusiasm when I e-mailed an author whose stories I like.

I also rather sincerly like Bright Eyes, and Death Cab for Cutie. And Goonies.

Then again, I also sincerely like Good Charlotte, Blink 182, and the Distillers, so.

*huffs* Well, that's rather rude.

I will jump over the emo stuff and salute your fine Goonies taste. I need a Goonies icon. Yes, Double O-Negative and his booty traps. I so have to watch that this weekend.

Well, to start off, I've been reading "meme" as "meem". Until you put "youyou." *facepalm* I friended you because you write such wonderful stories, and I occasionally give feedback. Not as much as I should, but still. [You also provided me with a code to start my own journal.] I also talked to Adam Brody on Loveline for about five seconds. But he talked back!

I am a big comics geek. Particularly Batman. (Although I like the animated series more than most of the comics.) :D

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2003-12-12 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Batman, the animated series, kicks much ass, oh yes. It'd be nice if it was on at a time that I could actually see it though, you know?

More lurker than not, amused by spinach issues, loves fish (to eat and watch), wants a personal Neil Gaiman clone badly and has the mental state between three and sixty.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2003-12-12 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not big on Neil Gaiman, or at all, but whatever floats your boat, or your fish is cool to me. I heart fish, too, both to eat and have.

I have the balance of a drunken hippo. Last Sunday, when I went shopping with my roommate, the bus was crowded so I thought I should give my seat to the more elderly passengers. Unforutantely, the fact that I was on heels added to my nonexistant balance caused me to fall on a blind lady when the bus made a sudden stop.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2003-12-12 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
*dies laughing*

I don't have balance issues, but I was standing on the bus once after being outside in the rain and when the bus took off, my legs shot out from under me and I went swinging like I'd been on a trapeze. Not one of my smoother moments.

I friended you because of your day-illuminating Smallville fictions and resent the O.C series to death for stealing you from the SV fandom.
On another note, I am a big earrings freak, meaning that I bought at least 30 pairs of them since September the first. My motto for them is: "The bigger the better, and it is cool if they do bling-bling when moving the head".
You should see the peacock tail ones... Gorgeous.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2003-12-12 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Your icon cracks me up. I have recently re-discovered my love for earrings in the wake of the chandelier movement, and it's not the O.C. that stole me from SV it's that SV turned into LV (Lanaville) that did me in.

Hmmm

The town I was born in is considered the coldest in the contiguous 48 states and it's not in the Midwest.

My family emigrated to the US in 1652 after being deported from Scotland and few of my relatives live in the same town that our ansestor settled in after surviving the French-Indian Wars.

I'm owned by two cats - a tuxedo named Sassy and a rag-doll who goes by Dali - otherwise known as the only functioning mammal with only two brain cells.

Before taking up writing, my hobby was recreating medieval clothing from the skin out, a pastime that I enjoyed for over 20 years.

Hugs,

Ace

I honestly believe in true love. I keep telling myself I don't, because I'm 26, and it's possible that I let somebody who truly loved me get away five years ago, but on the other hand, if he got away, could it really have been true love? So I don't believe that there is only one right person out there, but I believe that love can be pure and ever-lasting. This isn't really all that revolutionary, but I think a lot of people have given up on love. I don't intend to.

Oh, that was sappy. It's late, and I'm tired.

Of course, I missed the first two eps last week, and am now scrambling to try and get them, bt don't get me started. The pursuit of OC slash brought me here, which then led me to your Smallville stuff - bloody brilliant, all of it!! So, err... is it just me or does Luke remind anyone of Whitney from SV? I keep expecting him to disappear to make way for Ryan and Marissa...

I love writing, but I haven't wanted to do it for about 9 months now. Only my lj is keeping me from forgetting how to string words together completely. I'm hoping that the post-big-work-project period of the new year will let me unclench enough for some fic to come out.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2003-12-12 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)

When I was around twelve till fourteen, I went through this "boy" stage where I cut my hair short and wore trousers and baggy shirts. Now, I'm like pink, dresses, and have wavy hair I like to pile on my head.

However, I still get a secret thrill from being addressed as "Sir" by half-bline waiters.

+I have an obsession with shoes (fucking duh) that is sometimes very hard on my bank account. And not an obsession in a Carrie Bradshaw "gimme those Manolos" kind of way. I mean, in a "no one will have Adidas like that so I must have them", kind of way.

+I have three lists: 1)Future Ex-Husbands 2)Boyfriends and 3)Boys I'd Like to Smooch. However, no matter how naughty I might talk about folks like Adam Brody or Orlando Bloom, the only two people I would ever SERIOUSLY entertain having an actual "groupie moment" with are Dave Grohl and Ben Ottewell. I'd prefer Ben.

+I've been known to travel far and wide for a run of shows. I've also been known to stalk bands outside of radio stations that they're interviewing at and then subsequently making an ass out of myself.

+Sometimes, but only with REALLY good pals, I've been known to wash my Oreo cookies down with Rolling Rock. It's 4:20, do you know where your Johnny Bravo is?

+Even though it's completely legal, I was a bit spooked when the cops walked by in Amsterdam while we were smoking a joint. I blame Bush.

+Yes, my hair is naturally curly. However, it is NOT naturally red.

+I give boys with British accents a fair bit of leway in the looks department.

+I have been a fan of the band, Live, since 1991. And yes, I am sometimes embarassed by their new stuff and even more so when the singer does what I call "the chicken dance".

+My mom was born and rasied in Barbados and did not even know what the Statue of Liberty was until she moved to the US when she was 15.

+I am 29 years old, and I am worried that my mother will rip my head off at Christmas when she notices that I have gotten yet another tattoo. She scares me. Yet, she's one of my best friends.

+On my one visit to LA, I saw only one semi-celebrity. That Angelyne broad who ran for Gov. with the other 1/10 of the California population. I was very disappointed.

+I've known Zahra for about three years now yet have only had the chance to hang out with her once. I plan on upping that number to twice come February. Because no one can get enough Zaz. ;-)
