scribblinlenore mentioned being stuck indoors for a blizzard and how she thought it would be a great opportunity to spend some time getting to know some of the new people on my flist. Which I whole-heartedly agree.

So...tell me something about you. Favorite character. Favorite food. Something funny you do. Whatever you like. Just make it something that gives me a sense of who you are.

There's no pressure to participate, of course. If you'd rather just lurk, that's fine, too. But if you feel like coming out of the woodwork, I'd love to hear from you!

I think I do this like once a year and since I'm feeling a bit sour, and this exercise always makes me smile, I'll start...

1. I drink like six glasses of water a day,
2. I still read Smallville stories even though I don't watch the show anymore.
3. I love potatoes.
4. I love turtles; I plan to buy one as soon as I can afford the damn terrarium.
5. I think I would rather be blind than deaf since I can't imagine not listening to music.

1. I am desperately afraid of dogs.

3. I can go through 6 liters of water in 2 days, because it's almost all I drink.

Woohoo! A chance to talk about myself!
1. I am not now, nor have ever been a morning person. Nope. No way. Nada. Nevermore.
2. I used to work in the theater and in cabaret and I still sometimes direct and act. Now I run events - mostly weddings.

At first I was like, Jack-who? And then I was all noooooooo, not Jack. He's so borrrrrring. Why does he fawn after Kate; yeah, she's hot but clearly she doesn't want him. Bad Jack, no cookie for playing stupid.

1- I've had a cat for 17 years. She's now deceased and I miss the presence of a cat in my life so much. Right now, I which I could name a red cat Achilles, a black cat Hector and a brown cat Patroclus.
2- I've practiced folk dancing for the past 15 years.
3- I like smelling books almost as much as I like reading them. Actually, it's a tie.
4- I speak French.
5- I'm studying the liberal arts and I have no idea what's next. It freaks me out a little bit.
6- I first friended you for your Seth/Ryan and Billy/Dom. I'm a very OTP kind of girl.
7- Somebody said I was "half shy". It's a good description.

01. My first English word was "NO!". The second? "Zucchini."
02. When at parties, I tend to end up in the kitchen. I'm not entirely sure why.
03. Every two years or so, I build up enough commercial tension and monetary resources to finance one major purchase. The last two times it was guitars. This year I just put half down on the motorcycle boots (http://www.daytonboots.com) I've wanted since 1997.
04. I'm currently partway through a major career shift.
05. My fear of commitment has only recently begun to fade.

This a really neat idea

1. I think I'm almost more shy on the internet than I am in real life (though I'm in no way extroverted there either), which doesn't really make any sense if you think about it
2. I'm fascinated by people
3. Sometimes I feel, mentally at least, like an old man, which is rather silly because I am exactly the opposite
4. The first thing I think I must do when I am on my own is move somewhere by the ocean, because I've been inexplicably and violently drawn to it my entire life. It also scares the hell out of me.
5. I love extra-sharp white cheddar cheese, dark chocolate, and silent movies

1. Most of the people who know me seem to underestimate how important music is in my life.
2. I always seem to fall for the "class clown" type. (Not the jock version, but the slightly dorky version.)
3. A baby squirrel once ran up my dress. Yes, on the inside.
4. I've never traveled outside of North America, but I'm saving my frequent flier miles and should be able to do it next year.
5. In my family, we use humor to deal with stressful situations. There are very few things we can't joke about, at least a little.

2. I am now writing a squick that even squicks me, because it's kind of fun to squirm.

I changed names and locations, and added a new character, but it was basically the exact same plot. I had no idea I had done anything wrong until my teacher pulled me aside and I learned my new word for the day :). It is the first and only time I have ever actually written fanfic.

Yes, I can see how that would put a crimp on a burgeoning writer.
