HP – Rewind

I am so fucking cranky that it's like a soundtrack in my brain. This came to me last night when I was running, and it was probably a lot better then. For my most beloved [livejournal.com profile] kattiya who provided the photo.

I thought I liked dick when I married Potter, clearly I was mistaken, or he's turned me straight -- why am I being punished for it now? )

Music for Wednesdays

I've lost my ability to write. I've lost my porn, too. I can't even drum up a decent visual!

Ari has run off all of my muses, and I've lost my reading list to Supernatural and SG:A. I am most displeased –- but if you can't make yourself content no one can, so here's what I'm listening to right now:

Behind this tag are several artist you've probably never even heard of. If you are adverse to trying new things, or consider the radio a source of real music, don't click here, you'll probably break out in hives and I would only laugh evilly at your pain, because, yes, I am that mean )

Note to Self, and Other Like-minded Peeps

* The new Snow Patrol LP, Eyes Open, will be released on 1 May 2006 in the UK and the US. Advance sale and limited edition are available from Amazon.co.uk. I will be sacrificing babies and chickens around this date in hopes of a brilliant LP. * The fruits of the Dangermouse/Cee-Lo collaboration AKA Gnarls Barkley's St Elsewhere, will be released on 26 April 2006 according to amazon.co.uk. Again, no US release date, but presume it's therabouts.

* The new Gomez LP, How We Operate, will be available in the UK & the USA from 2 May 2006.

* There is still no fucking release date for the second season of Entourage, however, season three is slated to start in June (I've seen the trailers!) and there is a roundtable podcast available on iTunes. And for you 70-odd people who are on the fence, apparently seasons one and two are available for download from torrentspy and mininova* (According to [livejournal.com profile] addictedkitten and [livejournal.com profile] kabukivice

ETA One Word's Prompt of the Day was 'Maps' 60 Seconds+ another 15 to finish the thought.

It's a little worn around the edges, which he thinks is a bit odd since he's never actually opened it before. He always thought that maps were for when you got lost, and being lost required a car or a plane or some sort of transportation. Now he realizes that maps aren't necessarily for those who are physically lost. Sometimes you can just be lost and not have to go anywhere at all. Sometimes you don’t want to be found. Some trips have nothing to do with their destination at all.

RPS – No One Here Gets Out Alive

I told you art is the way to my heart. [livejournal.com profile] resmin brought the art. Her summary was, "Go there, steal the mascot outfit, deny if caught. Go!" My brain took it from there.

Dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] resmin and to [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon, so she'll stop fucking harassing me about the pairing.

RPS/RPC (Real Person Crack)
Jake Gyllenhaal. George Clooney. Peter Saarsgaard. Maggie Gyllenhaal. With appearances by Ari Gold and Heath Ledger.

No One Here Gets Out Alive

This story contains sarcasm, Ari Gold, the Oscars, drug usage, TV executives, would be vampires, Heath Ledger, Busy Phillips' cousin, mascot uniforms and random craziness. If you think you'll find these things offensive, uh, you shouldn't be here anyway. )

Poll! Poll!

[Poll #694608]

*dies laughing*

This is why I'm not supposed to make polls before I've had my morning sedative, because they don't make any sense

Question #4 should read I'm waiting for [insert selection] with baited breath. Also, I realise Entourage should be an option there, but I'm excited enough for everybody anyway, so.

What's it all about,Alfie?

I have so much love for [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma and [livejournal.com profile] antheia. And Happy St. Drinking Day, err, St. Patrick's so.

We're going to try something a little different today. I am at a loss for inspiration, so I come to you lot to show me what you think I should turn my hand to now. I have five story titles, but I have no subjects to match them, so, what I require from you lot, in 50/75 words or less, is what's the spin?

Pairing, fandom, rating, summary, theme, improv, opening line, maybe some art *hintfuckinghint* -- in short, tell me what the story is about, based on the title, and maybe I'll write you the whole thing.

Titles to choose from:
* No One Here Gets Out Alive
* 'Til the Wheels Fall Off
* The Heart is Deceitful Above All Else
* Song for the Dumped
* My One True Religion

Okay, first the bad news.

In what [livejournal.com profile] defamer has affectionately called Clooneygate, it appears that everybody's favorite non-candidate for President did not actually write Monday's Huff-blog post. Apparently those bad people at Huffington blog found it incumbent to piece together the blog from George's other interviews. Obviously, there's some question as to who is to blame for this snafu. The Huffington Post blames Stan Rosenfield, George's publicist. Stan blames Huff-post.

Ari doesn't really care, but since George is vexed, he's put out hits on everyone regardless.

The good news is that George has donated his entire Oscar swag bag to the United Way so they can auction it off for charity. So, everybody call the United Way. A Tahitian pearl necklace? Is that *supposed* to sound like one of [livejournal.com profile] estrella30's sex kinks?

In other news, if anyone has mp3s of Sing Sing's 'Sing-Sing and I' or anything by the Pocket Dwellers besides 'Shine' I would be most grateful.

Random man spam. Blaise. Darth Vader. Jake. George. Ari. The George is just, you know George, the Ari is from his trip to India to find himself and commune with the monkeys. He says they're smarter than anyone else in Hollywood besides he, George, and Lloyd )
2006-03-15 10:09 am

Ah, fandom.

[livejournal.com profile] thecomfychair has informed me that on 1 April, Jeremy Piven Ari will be have a special on Discovery HD called Journey of a Lifetime with Ari, err, Jeremy Piven -- because after the Oscar business, Ari had to get away. Right. I digress. I don't have Discovery HD. I don't know anyone who has it, but one of you bitches must and then you can share with the class. Please?

Yesterday, the beloved [livejournal.com profile] violetsmiles had a meme asking how you'd found her LJ, what your favorite Prince song was (you can't choose just one for real), and what song made you think of fandom. The last one actually had me stymied for a bit until this morning when Damon Albarn started hollering that he was looking for Girls who want boys/ who like boys to be girls/ who do boys like they're girls/ who do girls like they're boys/ Always should be someone you really love -- and I said, oh, Blur's 'Girls & Boys' THAT'S SO FANDOM.

And then a few hours later I got an e-mail that people were talking shit about a friend of mine in their locked posts, and besides just being rude and juvenile and crass, my first thought was, I've so been here!

Sometimes people judge you without knowing a damn thing about you. Sometimes people are just that infantile and petty. Some people just have to get their hate on. And I thought of Timex Social Club's 'Rumours' -- I'll think I'll write my congressman, and tell him to pass a bill, the next time they catch somebody starting rumors---shoot to kill! -- because THAT'S SO FANDOM, TOO.

At the end of the day though, we're all in this together. Love it, hate it, want to take a torch to it and burn that branch off of the family tapestry, we do this fandom shit together. No one else understands it, and protects it the way we do, and that's what makes it so interesting. And in that instance, well, there's only one song for it: Sister Sledge 'We Are Family' -- BECAUSE THAT'S JUST FANDOM.

Dear iTunes,

If you tell me the new Zero 7 single is available to buy, and then inform me that I can only buy it through the UK iTunes, and then do not permit me to buy it because I do not have a UK IP, nor am I currently on UK soil, this is going to piss me off.

Way to lose a sale, fucktards.

No love,
Me

p.s. Don't even get me started on the whole, Acoustic Kubb for sale, but not for me thing, bitches.

p.p.s In conclusion: Suck my proverbial cock

Someone wanted me to write George/Ari and -- I don't think I can. They don't have that sort of relationship. They're clearly crazy about each other to the point of violence, but like sex? I can't see it. Really. Despite Ari's preoccupation with George's dick and Matt Damon, yeah, he's pretty straight. George did kiss Ari once just to see what would happen, and Ari was so shocked he lost the ability to talk for a whole hour.

I'd reserved this space to write a recommendation of [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic's Freedom's Just Another Word For Nothing Left To Lose, but upon further thought I realise that that's just not going to do it justice. If you were going to read it as a SGA fan then by now you've already ready it, because it's been more recommended than Viagra. If you weren't going to read it because you're not an SGA fan then nothing I can say will change your mind.

However, I will repeat what I said to [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma after I finished my initial reading and that's this,"...it's just so beautiful and so true, I'm kind of shocked, and it makes my heart hurt. I've always wanted to write something that hit people so deeply, and I know it won't happen, but this is just gorgeous and I just, you know, wow. AHHHH! Feeling things really deeply always tends to leave me feeling like I just had layer of skin scraped off."

You should know that, originally, I wasn't going to read it either. I mean it's everywhere, nothing could possibly warrant that much attention. I wasn't crazy about the central character, and although I think the fandom writers are stupendously talented, I don't really like the programme either. In short, I had every frakking reason to pass it by, but I'm so thankful that I caved.

So, you know, if you've been waffling, give it a try. If you're just looking for something stunning and real to read, then try it for that reason too. It's not a fan story or a fandom story, it's not some pretentious philosophical idea wrapped up in sheep's clothing, it's just a story about life and getting through it.

IMO, that's what makes it so beautiful.

I Am a Liberal. There, I Said It!

Ari was still basking in the Oscar afterglow when George sent him the blackberry text. The post-Oscars euphoria was a week old, but Ari planned to ride that bitch until it broke down and he had to call AAA.

I wrote a column. There -- I said it. -- G

Ari squinted because Crackberry or not, the font size was smaller than Fred Durst's dick, which was such an unpleasant thought that he got distracted and had to go sexually harass Weiss and Fields in the mailroom to get over it. He didn't think much of George's message, because George said shit all the time.

That was George's whole problem.

When Ari came back to his office, Lloyd was hovering at the elevator banks. "I've been getting all these calls about George's column," he said. "Have you read it? It's really good." Lloyd put all his emphasis on "really" like he tended to whenever he was talking about George. It was the verbal equivalent of Lloyd giving George a blow job, which again, was another image that Ari didn't need.

"What column, you mean the column inches of his dick?" Ari said this because he could. He'd seen George's dick. He knew the routine. "Walk with me."

Lloyd had actually been the second person to profit from George's Oscar win, Ari being the first. The morning after George's Oscar win, which, really, with how long they were out drinking was more like the afternoon after -- Ari called the best escort service in Hollywood and made arrangements for Lloyd to have a little visitor along with the note:

You've blown us to an Oscar, you can let someone else do the work now.

Ari knew how to reward loyalty.

"It's really political," Lloyd added on, hot on Ari's heels. Ari could feel the eyes of his staff on his back. He loved it when he had all the power, it made his dick hard. "People are saying that he's getting ready to run for office -- Oprah and George in 2008."

Ari snorted, stopped, and turned around. "All right, fucktards and plebes, listen up so you can quote this accurately to Mark at Defamer -- George is not running for office this year. George is not running for office next year. I can't make any promises about the year after that, because by then we'll all be richer than god, and we'll just be able to buy the White House like George Bush, but I assure you that when we take over, and we will take over, I'll let each and every one of you suck my dick in the Oval Office, okay?"

Let's take it back to skool. (Music awareness day)

Thanks to everyone who participated in [livejournal.com profile] voleuse's Frankenstein Meme, you've ensured that I am so doing this again next month :D

I was going to write a snippet of George Clooney for Office with Jake as the First Man, but thanks to [livejournal.com profile] antheia, y'all get music instead. Ahem.

I've talked (bitched) in the past about how hip-hop these days isn't really anything like hip-hop from back in the old days, and I think a lot of people who remember rap from the 80s will agree with me. There are plenty of people who write rap/hip-hop off as 'that noise' and if that's how you feel, so be it, but you're dismissing a lot of brilliance based on a few assumptions.

Once upon a time not long ago, when people wore pyjamas and lived life slow, when laws were stern and justice stood… there was this thing called Hip-hop, and it wasn't about what you wore, or who you fucked, it was about the message and taking the piss and how your mom wouldn't buy you those Adidas you wanted -- This is Old Skool )

Entourage/RPF Parody - George Clooney's Diary

I have a paper cut. I have to see the GP. However, I also have Bob Marley singing One Love and the latest edition of Men's Vogue (for the menswear, people). Also, I see that there's some sort of conspiracy to get me to write Oscar fic, but I'm just not that connected today. Here, have this.

Entourage/RPF Parody
George. Ari. Jake. Other people.

GEORGE CLOONEY'S DIARY

9:10am – Ari calls, again. Is panicked because eldest daughter, Sarah, is sick, and Mrs Ari has forbidden him from attending Oscars. Ari says she's not dying and Mrs Ari being unreasonable. Remind Ari am Sarah's godfather. He says then I should stay with her, and he'll go be George Clooney instead. Ha fucking ha )

Music Day!

[livejournal.com profile] voleuse is running a fabulous music challenge called the Frankenstein Meme, which I have cannibalised for my own prurient music needs, and since one shouldn't take and not give, here's my take.

Hack This' Frankenstein Head-in-Your-Hands Mix )

It's all about the hotass.

The Unholy Terror Joan Rivers: What are you looking forward to the most tonight?

George Clooney: How drunk I'm going to be in an hour and a half.

I <3 George.

Ari is beside himself. Literally. Did you see him at last night's Indie Spirit Awards? [livejournal.com profile] ruidoso sent me photos because Ari was there with George*! Also, thank you to everybody who read and commented on Building Steam From a Grain of Salt: The Story of Ari Gold. It means a lot to me. And Ari.

ETA: Why is Jake pretending kissing another man was all weird to him? I smell hypocrisy. I bet Austin has something to say about that for real.

*Apparently, Ari was working the room and trying to sign Felicity Huffman. It's always work work work.

ETA2: George Clooney and Jon Stewart in bed together. And it's not Anderson Cooper's dream. This is officially the best awards show ever. I don't ever have to see another awards show again in my life.

Is the entire show going to be Jon flirting with George? I am SO watching the whole thing now.

ETA3: jskejvnaoimvcakfjvcwc. Yeah. That's the noise Ari and I just made.

I am using last night's Battlestar Galactica to work my way through a mild hangover, but in the first five minutes two extremely important things have occured to me. Beer is your friend. Vodka is your other friend. Together, they are like your delinquent best friend who got you drunk at 15 and bought you your first box of condoms. )
2006-03-02 02:22 pm

Yes, there is Ari-fic on the way.

It just occured to me that fixing your bra strap in public is the male equivalent of scratching your balls, because when you catch someone doing either one, they're always like, WTF are you looking at? This is a necessary task.

At least that's what I was thinking when I was fixing my bra.

In other news, iPod babies, talk to me about the Ipod Agent*. How's that working out for you?

*For those of you who don't know what I'm on about, apparently the iPod Agent (brought to you by the kids at iLounge), makes your iPod really all-purpose by allowing you to take music off and put it somewhere else. Since we all know we can put shit on, but taking it off is a whole other story.

SGA – Surrogate Father

c) [livejournal.com profile] slodwick made Sheppard & Baby art.. Since [livejournal.com profile] nifra_idril had already slayed my ovaries with more Cylon Baby + 2 Daddies I said all right, you win 1000 words. Or maybe a few more than 1000.

Stargate: Atlantis AU
Sheppard/McKay

Surrogate Father

I am multi-tasking today. Somehow between the taxes and the work and Ari's autobiography and driving Serial Karma up the wall, I decided to write baby Sheppard fic. No, I don't know what I was smoking. No, hopefully, I don't have anymore )

We are to be appreciating people today. Or summat.

a) [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis wrote me Wee!Helo ; b) [livejournal.com profile] nifra_idril wrote Cylon Baby Daddies!

(Both of these have spoilers for the most recent BSG)

c) Jake and Austin doing the town. Boy, that's a morning after the night before if ever I saw it with the scraggly hair and wrinkled clothes. Heh.

On the subject of [livejournal.com profile] slodwick:

[livejournal.com profile] hackthis: Okay, the soundtrack that [livejournal.com profile] slodwick made for Chasing Sheppard? If I were in the OST business I'd prolly hire her based on that alone.

[livejournal.com profile] serialkarma: [livejournal.com profile] slodwick is so freaking talented, and I wonder if she has *any idea*, you know?

[livejournal.com profile] hackthis: OMG, did you see the Ari art she made? I totally have to write a story for that, and it's not even for me.

[livejournal.com profile] serialkarma: Yes, it was fantastic. Plus, did you see all those covers for fake stories she did last week? Damn.

[livejournal.com profile] hackthis: I know! If it were anybody else, I'd hate them, good thing she's on the side of slash.

And so, you know, we heart Slod.

*Yes, I really am hoping to write the story to go with the art, but I have lots of other things on my mind at the moment, and my ability to write has taken a sabbatical without me, so.
