Have just come from seeing The March of the Penguins. Please insert the obligatory cooing sounds [here]. It was by turns heart-breaking and uplifting and just such a welcome change from all the typical Hollywood dreck. I absolutely adored it. Plus, Morgan Freeman narration = v soothing experience. I would definitely recommend it.
That makes the third great film I've seen this year, and it's only July. That's definitely up from last year, when I think I saw one engaging film in all twelve months.
I post, however , because two things occurred during this film that have nothing to do with wee penguins. I speak, of course, of trailers! There was a trailer for The Goblet of Fire, and may I just say now, having not see the trailers before but seeing them in the theatre, dude, I think Durmstrang may have more hot men per square inch than anybody knew prior to this moment. Oh, the slash. I think I need Cedric/Krum. Does this exist? It so should.
Also, I saw a trailer for Pride and Prejudice, the version starring Keira Knightly, which I have to see on principle of it being Jane Austen. I know upfront this is nothing to the BBC adapation with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth. Keira will never be the next Kate Winslet, however, everyone is fired for not telling me thatTom Quinn! Baby Daddy! Matthew MacFayden was playing Darcy, cos really,<33333333 Spooks/MI-5
