Dear Most Awesomest [livejournal.com profile] yuletide Santa EVAR!!

I am so sorry I didn't get to comment sooner, but OMG YOU WROTE ME TEMERAIRE!!! I WIN ALL THE TOYS!!! Um, yes, so really this is just my way of saying thank you so much for being so damn brilliant and writing me this wonderful story, Fortune, which I am demanding that everyone who's on my flist read right now. (That means you lot) Seriously, though, I know you did this under time constraints and you performed beautifully, and superbly, and I am so very greatful that there is not enough awesome in the world to convey my thanks. As a more eloquent person than I once said 'My excitement cannot be textually rendered'* but I can sure scream real loud.

THANK YOU TIMES INFINITY.

*Good looking out there, [livejournal.com profile] lyra_sena.

** Yes, I know this is a similar to my comment, but again, see the bit about my excitement and textually rendered. This is just me screaming real loudly.
Note: I'm stealing this from [livejournal.com profile] boniblithe who stole it from [livejournal.com profile] herself_nyc who stole it from your mom. I would write this one myself, as I have tried, repeatedly, to sell you guys on what is, hands down, my favorite show of 2006, and I'd do it again today, but I am tired. I had like 5 hours of sleep...

Heartbreak, humor, strong women, strong men, beautiful boys and lovely girls, femslash and slash potential ... this show has everything except enough people for me to talk to about it *g*

Friday Night Lights, a program making almost every critic's top 10 list (and it so deserves it), is getting a marathon this week. [Edited because the other marathon ran last night]

On Saturday, from 9:00AM to 7:00PM ET, Bravo, NBC's cable sister, will show every episode that NBC aired this season, in order. If you want to get into what is really the best new drama of this season - great writing, Emmy caliber acting, very interesting camera production - this is a good chance.

The schedule:

9AM - "Pilot"
10AM - "Eyes Wide Open"
11AM - "Wind Sprints"
12N - "Who's Your Daddy"
1PM - "Git 'Er Done"
2PM - "El Accidente"
3PM - "Homecoming"
4PM - "Crossing the Line"
5PM - "Full Hearts"
6PM - "It's Different for Girls"

Next week, the program moves to Wednesdays at 8PM ET. It is available at NBC.com the day after the program runs on the network. Give the show a try - it is really, really good.

ETA Don't believe us, believe TV Guide's Matt Roush:

Underdog of the year: Friday Night Lights

No big stars to speak of. A small-town Texas setting and a sports theme that should potentially turn off huge segments of the viewing demographic. A show that takes faith seriously, yet refuses to pander to false hope or saccharine characters. Friday Night Lights sounds like a show that's too good for you to be good enough to enjoy, which may be why this gem is this year's Best Show You're Not Watching. (Though if you've bothered to read this far, I hope that you are.) There are so many reasons to watch: the authenticity of its setting, the rich humanity of its characters. These include Matt Saracen, the awkward replacement quarterback who heartbreakingly tends to his senile granny while his dad's at war, even as he tentatively tries to woo the coach's precocious daughter; Jason Street, the fallen star quarterback now assessing his future from a wheelchair; Tim Riggins, the troubled wild child with a natural talent that you can't help but fear he'll squander; and the coach and his wife, played with a naturalness by Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton that is a joy and a wonder to behold. This quietly affecting, reliably tear-jerking drama is a show to root for. NBC deserves a huge thanks for keeping the lights on for Friday Night Lights as it struggles to find an audience in its first (hopefully not only) season.

TiVo it. Download it. Don't let this one get away.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND FOOTBALL AND HOTASSERY, PLEASE DON'T LET THEM TAKE AWAY MY SHOW.
