I just had an epiphany . The new and improved OTP of dysfunctional fucking is Draco and Zacharias. You KNOW that’s all about wanting Harry. Oh yes, yes, yes, yes…
Harry Potter
Middle Man
When it’s his turn to be on top, Malfoy leaves teeth marks on Zacharias’ right shoulder and deep crimson gauges in his forearms. Malfoy grabs and demands instead of petting and cosseting. He thrusts erratically, deep and shallow and hard and slow.
He keeps his eyes squeezed shut when he fucks Zacharias.
It's not a healthy exchange by any stretch of the imagination, but it works well enough, and Malfoy doesn’t fool Zacharias in the least bit. After all this is a mutually beneficial relationship.
There is no pattern to Malfoy’s behaviour, but his silence never changes and that makes more sense than he could ever know. Zacharias is no fool. Malfoy's actions speak for him, and they say all the things that Slytherin prefects would be strung up in the dungeon for.
When it’s Zacharias turn, he leaves ten circular bruises dotted along Malfoy’s hipbones before forcing Malfoy only his back and climbing on top. Zacharias prefers to start and let someone else finish. He likes watching Malfoy’s teeth sink into his bottom lip as he does his damndest not to say anything.
Once he had Zacharias place a Silencing Charm on him, and Zacharias thought about putting an Auditory Charm on instead, but he was too hard at the time to give it serious consideration.
Zacharias always thinks he might do the charm the next time but never does. It wouldn’t do to alienate Malfoy.
He’s not the only one that needs a Silencing Charm; Zacharias' is just a bit more complex.

When it rains they meet outside. When the weather is nice they stay indoors. They’re contrary in the way that desperate people always tend to be.
*
Zacharias has scrapes on his back from the floor of the Potions classroom and splinters in his fingernails from the worktables. He picks them out during meals while he keeps his eyes firmly on the Gryffindor table. Zacharias doesn't have to look at the Slytherin table, and he’s never asked how Malfoy knows exactly when the classroom will be available. He just takes it as it comes and lets nothing faze him.
He’s not surprised that Malfoy knows about the Room of Requirement, either. After all, Zacharias is the one that told him about it. They use it for something else, since Zacharias prefers to keep his verbal aggression stored up for someone else.
*
It’s always Smith, like John Smith or John Doe.
It’s never Zacharias or Zach.
It’s always Malfoy. It’s certainly never Draco, but that’s irrelevant. It’s not about them. It’s never about them, and neither one really cares.
They fuck and fight and reveal secrets that they shouldn’t with an abandon that clearly indicates their years, because they’re not about love or lust or hatred. Their arrangement is one of convenience.
Zacharias doesn’t want Malfoy anymore than Malfoy wants him, but it makes it easier since neither one of them can have Potter.

This fucked up pairing brought to you by JKR and the most amazing Lar. Bet you didn’t think I was gonna do this with those improv words, babe. Heh.

Date: 2003-06-25 05:03 pm (UTC)and mmmmm, how lovely is it that you begin fics with things like this, "When it’s his turn to be on top, Malfoy leaves teeth marks on Zacharias’ right shoulder"? ::purrs::
Delicious.
aaaaaaand
They’re contrary in the way that desperate people always tend to be.
I would like to fuck this sentance's brains out, thank you v. much...

Date: 2003-06-26 09:43 am (UTC)When I first finished OoTP I wasn't sure if it was going to happen because that's a lot of shit to consider, so you know, I'm taking it slow. Reading new shit, considering new pairings *points to obvious insanity of Draco/Zacharias and Harry/Neville*

I love that sentence. That is like one of my favorite sentences ever, I don't know how the fuck my brain produced it.

Strangely enough, I'm quite attracted to this story myself. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. Thank you!

Date: 2003-06-25 05:23 pm (UTC)I adore the idea of those two fucking to be in denial of Harry lust, because as someone said, Zacharias is totally Draco-lite. Draco without the intensely psychotic angst. *grins*

Gah. I want to run away with that sentence. So good, mmm.

Date: 2003-06-26 09:46 am (UTC)Which naturally brings us back to the intrinsic narcissism of Draco. But you'd be narcissistic, too, if you looked like that I suppose. Oh, can my brain shut up for five seconds? Yeesh. I'm glad you liked it.

Also, it was um, kinda hot. In the sense of, wtf, how did you do that. I really liked it, and I'm surprised that I liked it, thought I don't know why. If anyone could do it, you could. And you did. You brilliant, brilliant madwoman.

Date: 2003-06-26 09:49 am (UTC)The Bitter Potter Fanclub. You know that's an interest right? Also, I know Draco would never shag a Hufflepuff, but you know, desperate times call for all sorts of strange shit.

Great line. I love it very much. I may chain it to my wall and hold it hostage. Draco and Zach are so fucked up and twisted, but they rock.
Although, isn't Smith a Hufflepuff? Draco would be horrified if he knew. *grins*

Date: 2003-06-26 09:50 am (UTC)Well, Sara mentioned that, and yes, perhaps he would be quite horrified, but he's also got unresolved issues with Harry bloody Potter. That's got to be twenty times worse in Draco's book, you know?

Loved that line. It hurts because it's true, and all that sort of thing.

Date: 2003-06-26 09:52 am (UTC)You didn't? The entire time I read OoTP I kept waiting for Zacharias to try and pull a Draco. It was so obvious he wanted to shag Harry, I was wondering when he'd try and give him what for. Heh. *pauses. laughs more* What for. I crack myself up.

Date: 2003-06-26 08:54 am (UTC)You know my favorite thing about OOTP?
Given how good some of the fic powered by GOF has been, I can't wait to see what folks do now.
A bit pathetic of me, really. I enjoyed the book so much but spent a great deal of it going, "Oooooo! Can't wait for the fanfic!" :D
