March is the month for losing the plot.

Have I reasserted my love for Jeff Buckley recently? Because really, dude. He’s just this conduit for all the things I can’t ever verbalise. *loves madly*
Anyone with even a fleeting interest in Smallville should read
lyra_sena's newest story. It’s gorgeous and heart-breaking and dysfunctional. You know, all that stuff I adore. Speaking of Dysfunctional, my website has been updated by the magnificent
obsessedmuch. *adores*
In other news,
lalejandra requested some HP, which I know I’m not going to be able to write, so she let me off the handle with some Adam/Lex, which brought up an exchange about popularity of certain pairings that I’m predisposed to, which I answered thusly:
I know it's [Adam/Lex] not a very popular pairing or whatever, but I write for me - and the select few who beta for me - so in the end it doesn't really matter. I'm always pleased when people enjoy what I write - I mean who isn't? [feedback is like really good chocolate (Galaxy bars!)] - but at the end of the day, I'm about making *me* happy.
… and to me this is what’s important: being pleased with what I’ve done. Like I said above, it’s always great when people comment and recc on stuff I’ve written – I’m always grateful and touched - but at the end of the day, when I’m writing Neville/Harry instead of Draco/Harry, or Adam/Lex as opposed to Lex/Clark, it’s because it’s a pairing that I enjoy and love and can get behind. I need to believe in what I’m writing otherwise, it’s just like ‘meh.’ It’s okay with me if not everybody likes it – because I do.
In my mind, it doesn’t matter if everybody loves my stories or everybody thinks they’re shite, all it takes it one person that likes what I do. Me.
ETN: This is not some subversive cry for attention, it's just me reminding myself of what's really important at the end of the day. Some times it's easy to forget, you know?

Date: 2004-03-02 12:24 pm (UTC)Okay, this, this is our happy place. Like you know how some people have barren islands or whatever? We have this. We'll call it The Room (not to be confused with the club in L.A.), live music, handsome bartenders, and you can smoke freely. The drinks are always free and also, hash. I think our club is located in Amsterdam.

Date: 2004-03-02 12:35 pm (UTC)I think it would have to be. But it doesn't matter, because by definition, happy places are always easy to get to, there is never, ever any cover, and all the tables are the best in the house.

Date: 2004-03-02 12:47 pm (UTC)As for billing, of course Ryan should have a standing gig, but as apparently death is not a deterrent to appearing onstage in our club, I'd suggest a good mix of acts. Personally, I think Etta James needs to have a show at least once a month.

Date: 2004-03-02 02:51 pm (UTC)I remember when fandom was conducted entirely through listservs and once in a while through text files on websites. *is old* But you know what? Even then people were absolutely crazy and fighting all the time about dumb shit and starting flame wars. It was only slightly better because some lists had badass moderators, but some lists got really nutso.
I am with you and Lex.
I think it's his charisma. He's not necessarily attractive, or whatever, but he and M.R. have *chemistry* like nothin doin.

Yes, and this is why Lex is bringing him back to the castle to recouperate. And they're going to live dysfunctionally ever after. Or something like that.

Anna is in love with you and your fic. More on this later, when I have the time.
One day we'll be back in the same fandom.
