Ah, adulthood!

serialkarma is over on her LJ asking what the best bit about being an adult is, and since there are so many crap things about being an adult: bills, hosiery, bills, cleaning up for guests, bills, slave labor, err, I meant a job, bills... you get the point, I wanted to spread the love and ask what you guys like about being an adult.*

*This is only applicable if you can legally vote, and/or drink (people in the UK, do you have your driving certificate?), and/or pay your own rent, and/or you’ve legally divorced your family and are supporting yourself.

My favorite things about being an adult in no particular order:

Alcohol. Travelling the world without anybody wearing a fanny pack or tall white socks. Streaking! Sex with whomever whenever wherever. Knowing what jailbait really is. Calling home when you want to hear your mum's voice, but being able to hang-up when the nagging starts. Appreciating your siblings. Appreciating your youth. Saying 'd'you remember back in the day' (but you can only do this if you're over 25). Living by yourself. Not doing the washing. Not doing the dishes. Wearing the same thing two days in a row. Nobody asking you what time you got in. Nobody asking you why your clothes are on the wrong way (except the taxi driver).

Oh, and one of the best/worst things about being an adult:

The freedom to fuck up as much as you like and know it's all your own doing.

having complete control over my money.

being able to eat ice cream for dinner, or cookie dough.

having children.

staying up late if I want to.

skipping work if I want to (by calling in sick).

Man, I could go on and on.... I love being an adult WAY more than being a kid.

That could just be cuz my childhood sucked.
