My computer at work had to be reimaged, and this means I lost all my mp3s. Not that I would ever use a work connection for something like downloading music, because that would be wrong, but people this is devestation on par with, like, the death of an iPod or something. All those songs that [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra (Dan Bern!) and [livejournal.com profile] anniesj (The 88's! The OC! Ben Folds!) and [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis (Gomez!) made available for the music-less while at work are gone. I have no more Billy covering Britney on Sharon. This is devestating for me. I need help.

I need JayZRyanAdamsJeffBuckleyJetTheStrokesRollingStonesCountingCrows TheVerveTheCharlatansZero7TheiveryCorporationPulpTheChemicalBrothersNasTalibKweliTheClashTheDandyWarholsSondreLercheFionaAppleBlurOasisMattNathansonStarsailorMorcheebaPortisheadBeastieBoysTribeCalledQuest and everybody else, too.

I have nothing left now.

If you can point me in a good direction, or are willing to stick up some mp3 to help rectify the lack of music in my work-existence I would sacrifice virgins and chickens For you appreciate it greatly.

Note: Alas, no, I cannot put Limewire/Kazaa/SoulSearcher on my system as The Man doesn't quite approve. Damn The Man!

What Morcheeba would you like? I have Big Calm if you want it.

I love Big Calm! Or Who Can You Trust, or Charango whatever you can spare. I am not picky.

Let me have your email addy and I'll put up Gomez, Ryan Adams, The Strokes, Counting Crows, Verve, Dandy Warhols and Starsailor to start with, and send you a super sekrit link.

Would you like whole batches of one artist, then another whole batch, or just a miscellaneous selection of all sorts.

And was it the OC soundtrack you were after, because I think I've got mp3's of that.

I would love whatever you can give me. I'm a great believer in variety and seeing what other people love, so just throw lots of stuff together and I will be a very happy camper. *adores*

Thank you.

I have some Counting Crows, some Blur, and the Billy covering Britney. What's the best way to get them to you?

From: [identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com
If you could put them somewhere I could download them, that would be for the best, but even if you can't that's okay. That's for offering!

I so don't know you, but I think I saw you on someone's Friends list talking about Rachael Yamagata and Jonathan Rice (who both rock BTW, so thanks for reccing them) first, and now reading your post I just find your tale of woe is far too familiar to me, so I'd like to help out.
I have: Starsailor, Jeff Buckley, Jet, Sondre Lerche, Fiona Apple, and the O.C CD (and Ryan Adams, but he's been mentioned already).
Let me know and I'll upload them and send you a link.

Yes! Yes! *pumps fist in air*

That would be wicked, and anything else you wanted to add in would be great. I like music surprises. Except for when it's bad feedback at a gig.

Eddie: This music is the glue of the world Mark. It's what holds it all together. Without this, life would be meaningless.
Mark: Hey, did you hear about Lucas?
Eddie: Hey Lucas man, I hear you went to Vegas and you married a mobster's wife and now you've got a hit on you and stuff. Is that true?
Lucas: Not entirely true.
Eddie: Well outlaw man, we solute you.
Lucas: Thank you Eddie.
Eddie: No problem.

Neil Gaiman has a link to download "March of the Sinister Ducks" on his blog.

http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/2004_01_18_archive.asp

search for 'sinister' on the page, and just right-click on the link.

here's a link for eric idle's "FCC song" warning: lots of eff word, headphones advised.

http://radio.about.com/od/sternindecency/qt/blfccsong.htm

Barsuk Records offers downloads of their artists like Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter, Nada Surf, John Vanderslice, and your (not-so) faves DCFC.

I assume you know about launch.com and radio365.

Good luck!

No problem!

Sondre Lerche is getting more and more "famous" outside of Norway, isn't he? *pets him* I'm not really a fan, so I gave away my signed copy of 'Faces Down'. But I kept a rare, signed 7". ;)

*laughs* I feel like we had this conversation around this time last year, unless I had it with someone else. I loved his first LP, but I'm not so keen on the second one, which is unfortunate as he's absolutely adorable.

I guess it was someone else. *lol* It's just exiting for us Norwegians when people discover that there's more to Norwegian music than a-ha and Turbonegro. And yes, he's adorable. Especially when he squees!

Why must everyone pick on the virgins? Sacrifice *hoochies* and chickens!
(sorry, just always wanted to say that)
Will have to consult with my brother, the local King of MP3s^^--he might have something on your list? Or of interest? Will ask! Might have to email you about some of the unfamiliar names?

Why do we pick the virgins and not the hootchies? Because the virgins are rarer than the hootchies! Don't stress yourself or your brother either, munchkin. If I must do it the old fashioned way and bring in CDs, well, I can tough it out I suppose.
