So, I was thinking today about slash in general and how easy we have it today (LJ, e-mail, Internet) compared to the old skool fandoms like Star Trek and Starsky & Hutch, which had to pimp their stuff in three feet of snow going uphill in both directions. They had it rough no doubt, but then I was thinking about the real back in the day slashers and how rough it must have been for them, because you know when Pride and Prejudice came out back in 1813 there had to be at least two women in the world who thought Darcy and Bingley were having at it in Netherfield. I mean c'mon look at the name of the house, Netherfield, people? More like Large Shack O'Love.

What? Don't tell me you don't see it.

Also, Entourage fans (all eight of us) [livejournal.com profile] dammitcarl made us a community! [livejournal.com profile] the_guesthouse. Run, fly, drive like Drama and Turtle trying to get laid!

screaming until i die here, thanks.

Darcy and Bingley were having at it in Netherfield. I mean c'mon look at the name of the house, Netherfield, people? i think this every day. the belief in this statement is the first entry in my RuleBook. Darcy so surly and proud and cold! Bingley so friendly and, er, laughingly cajoling his friend into bed.

Yep, that's how it happened. And Darcy was willing because he loved Charles and because he didn't want to sleep with any woman he wouldn't marry and he hadn't found her yet - and Caroline (one does wonder if Mr and Miss Bingley were twins) was certainly not her.

And Darcy was so jealous of Bingley and Jane that he ignored his own feelings towards Elizabeth. And both sisters turn a blind eye to their husbands' time together. Elizabeth, especially, understands that she is married to an aristocrat, however untitled.
