What I want to know is, how the hell did they lose all that money they stole from Benedict?

(While I was writing The Guy That You Came In With (http://amatia.acherontia.org/section8/tess.html), I was like "Why am I having them con people out of more money?". But now I don't feel quite as stupid, since somehow they've lost all the Benedict money. It just doesn't make sense. Danny and Rusty are smarter than that. Well, except when it comes to gambling. Maybe that's what happened.)
