The countdown has begun.
Dec. 17th, 2004 10:18 am1. There have been a lot of new friendings happening recently, so you know, introduce yourselves! Why are you acting like you have no home training? Your mums would be appalled.
2. I got an OC calendar in a gift exchange and I bought the S1 DVDs yesterday. I believe this is now the time for me to ask for a divorce? Is this how I works again? I did see last night's episode though, and very much adore Sandy and Ryan.
serialkarma and I were discussing the non-hotness of Lindsey's mom and we've chalked it up to her not being a Newport resident. Hot people only in city limits. Also, my Ryan-adoration really knows no bounds at this point.
3. It seems that everybody and their grandparents is in the
yuletide/sekritholidayperson crunch, so I thought I'd throw up some inspirational (well, for me) music. At least the stuff is fast-paced.
a. Turin Brakes - Pain Killer -- I heart Olly and Gale, not because they're friends of friends, but because they write wicked songs with lyrics like 'You need something better than the bacon and eggs/ The creaking in the walls and the banging in the bed'
b. Elbow - Buttons and Zips and Elbow - Snooks (Progress Report) -- I couldn't decide between the two, and since I'm trying to coax
circe_tigana into the Elbow fold I thought I should put up both.
c. Gomez - Here Comes the Breeze -- Okay, this isn't really fast-paced, but to know The 'Mez is to love them, and I love this song, so just download it!
d. Jay Z - 99 Problems -- Because, yes, I know, not getting these stories done on time does feel like 99 Problems.
e. And because nothing I do is compelete without them: I present Ryan Adams singing about hookers (Tina Toledo's Street Walking Blues) and Jeff Buckley singing in French (Je n'en Connais Pas la Fin)*
Go forth and Merlin speed!
*The quality on this recording isn't as good because this was made back before his mother decided not to kick people off Napster for looking for rare stuff. Not that I was bitter when that happened, no. Of course not. Also, yes I did name that HP trilogy after this song, because Jeff is singing in French!
