Something to talk about...
Jun. 21st, 2005 09:58 amI dreamt this morning that Brad Pitt was the new Indiana Jones – a la Indie and the Raiders of the Lost Arc. He wasn't bad you know. I was quite surprised. He wasn't too good with scaffolding though.
Points of Interest:
+ We have good casting news (re: Batman sequel) and bad casting news (re: X-3). Take your pick.
+ I so love
iharthdarth. It's all about the yoga breathing!
In random news:
circe_tigana and I believe that Cillian Theodore should be the new Godfather. I really must write something that's not RPS. My brain is starting to atrophy.
Music for Tuesdays...
Ocean Colour Scene 'July' – the theme for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels the TV series. My love for this song cannot really be put into words. Let's say this single was one of the only good things that I got from one of exes. Well, that a wicked Charlatans tee shirt that's gone missing.
Radiohead 'I Might Be Wrong' – The In Between Years for Thom & Co, i.e OK Computer to Hail to the Thief, were full of experimental stuff that a lot of people didn't enjoy, but you can't just re-do Creep 50,000 times. I actually enjoyed pretty much all of the In Between era. Apparently that makes me insane or something.
Jeff Buckley 'The Sky is a Landfill' – Oh look, JEFF! I know you're all shocked. One of the things I lament the most about Jeff being gone is that we'll never see what new and innovative stuff he would've done. It's clear on Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk that he was going in a new direction, one with a little more world-awareness. Unlike some people though, Jeff never rammed anything down the listener's throat. He never forced you to agree with him; it was always about gentle coaxing and luring you in without you realising what the fuck was going on.
Missy Elliott feat. Ludacris 'Gossip Folks' – Anybody who says 'I'm a bad mamajama, godammit motherfucker you ain't gotta like me' in a song wins.
