I dreamt this morning that Brad Pitt was the new Indiana Jones – a la Indie and the Raiders of the Lost Arc. He wasn't bad you know. I was quite surprised. He wasn't too good with scaffolding though.

Points of Interest:

+ We have good casting news (re: Batman sequel) and bad casting news (re: X-3). Take your pick.

+ I so love [livejournal.com profile] iharthdarth. It's all about the yoga breathing!

In random news: [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana and I believe that Cillian Theodore should be the new Godfather. I really must write something that's not RPS. My brain is starting to atrophy.

Music for Tuesdays...

Ocean Colour Scene 'July' – the theme for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels the TV series. My love for this song cannot really be put into words. Let's say this single was one of the only good things that I got from one of exes. Well, that a wicked Charlatans tee shirt that's gone missing.

Radiohead 'I Might Be Wrong' – The In Between Years for Thom & Co, i.e OK Computer to Hail to the Thief, were full of experimental stuff that a lot of people didn't enjoy, but you can't just re-do Creep 50,000 times. I actually enjoyed pretty much all of the In Between era. Apparently that makes me insane or something.

Jeff Buckley 'The Sky is a Landfill' – Oh look, JEFF! I know you're all shocked. One of the things I lament the most about Jeff being gone is that we'll never see what new and innovative stuff he would've done. It's clear on Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk that he was going in a new direction, one with a little more world-awareness. Unlike some people though, Jeff never rammed anything down the listener's throat. He never forced you to agree with him; it was always about gentle coaxing and luring you in without you realising what the fuck was going on.

Missy Elliott feat. Ludacris 'Gossip Folks' – Anybody who says 'I'm a bad mamajama, godammit motherfucker you ain't gotta like me' in a song wins.

No Alan in X-3? Definitely not good. Nightcrawler is one of my favourite X-Men, and I do so love Alan.

Thanks for the music!

The idea of Brad Pitt with the Indian Jones whip is endlessly amusing for me for reason I can't quite explain. I think maybe because I started wondering if the rope was made out of hemp and if Brad would try to smoke it.

Damn, there was no whip, but there was the traitrous blonde from The Last Crusade -- my psyche got confused I guess.

Of all the actors who could have come back, why did Halle Berry have to one of them?

I don't get it. I just so don't get it with her at all. Okay, she's attractive, but she cannae act. The only thing I've ever thought she was good in was Boomerang! There are a million African-American actresses in Hollywood that can actually act and they choose her. Also, she has no chemistry with like anyone. Gah!

I laughed at the Holmes thing. I'm still laughing. It's amazing how the involvement of Tom Cruise can change my opinion of someone so fast.

Speaking of X3, my friend passed along this link (http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=20443). Has spoilers and stuff.

And if/when you're finished reading it... yeah. Fuckers.

I love Kid A and Amnesiac. Then again I am a Radiohead addict who loves everything they put out. Thom could read the phone book whilst Jonny played the tuba in the background and I'd probably go wild over it.

Okay, I'm maybe a 1/8th of the way down the page, but the words 'unmitigated disaster' are just freaking me out.

You know for a really long time I just liked them. I thought they had good stuff. I didn't love Kid A or Amnesiac or even OK Computer, but I liked their stuff; it never really bothered me one way or the other what anyone else thought. And then somewhere along the line The Bends got under my skin. Roz, we're talking about a ten year old LP here, I don't know how, but it just did. And then I sat down to watch 7 Television Commercials with some friends on New Year's Day (like two years ago). We were slightly chemically enhanced, I admit, but at some point I turned to my friend and said in shock 'OMG, Thom Yorke is really fucking hot!' All down hill from ther

Dear Katie Holmes,

And you thought your five-year-no-sex-worth-millions-of-dollars-if-you-break-it contract to Tom Cruise was going to be good for your career.

Maybe I be the first to say:

HA HA HA HA HA SUCK IT HA!

Have fun letting him chew your lips off for the cameras with the fire of all of his hetero love passion. Make sure he pays for the meds when you get the herp!

Love,
clem.

I almost feel bad for her. She probably had no idea how batshit crazy he was when she signed onto this deal. And before this whole debacle, nobody hated Katie Holmes. Maybe people weren't a FAN of hers, but her presence in a movie wouldn't be enough to stop them from seeing it, you know? But now...she's gonna be loooooathed.

Oooh, I'm liking this Radiohead stuff. I know a bunch of their work, but by no means all of it. If this is an example of their experimental stuff, I like. Although I do have several versions of Creep, myself.

Creep is a good song. It's an even better single, but they've got so much stuff that's way better. You know, over on [livejournal.com profile] audiography it's A User's Guide To... week, I know someone's started the Radiohead one if you're interested.

Not at all surprised by the Katie Holmes thing. In a film full of stellar performances, the best I could say about her was that she was inoffensive. The fact that she was channeling Joey Potter at the end was rather disconcerting. I couldn't help but wish for a stronger actress to pair with Mr. Bale, a la Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns.

I wish he would pics of him are in short supply. I believe the pic is from Strut (from the same shoot as this icon) but I can't quite remember. I think I've got a few other random Cillian icons lying around, if you're interested I can go poke about a bit for them.
