I saw Closer the other day with [livejournal.com profile] random_flores and four things struck me ([livejournal.com profile] fearlessdiva and [livejournal.com profile] pandarus will be very interested in #4)

1. Wow. Dan (Jude Law) and Larry (Clive Owen) totally should've fucked and gotten it out their systems. Cyber-sex and all that fucking each other's women when they should've just done it themselves? Repression! Especially that scene in the Larry's office. That was lust! I thought they were going to shag on the floor with all that tension and slashiness.

2. Clive Owen, barefoot, with his jeans rumpled and his belt unfasted is one of the hottest things I have ever seen in my life. [livejournal.com profile] random_flores and I nearly wept with the hot. I think that's what triggered all the porn talk in the restaurant. I was having issues trying to pull together a Fantasy Five but he is SO on that list. Him and Angelina and Tom bloody Welling and Cillian Murphy. Why do I still only have four? ::sigh:: Wait, add in George Clooney and Mos Def and Ryan Gosling. Okay, I'm good now.

3. I thought I disliked Natalie Portman, but [livejournal.com profile] random_flores pointed out that that's just because of the Star Wars horror, because she was actually quite good in Closer. And Leon/The Professional and that other movie where she was pregnant and living in Wal-Mart.

4. For those not in the know [livejournal.com profile] fearlessdiva and [livejournal.com profile] pandarus cast Jude Law as Draco in their respective HP epics, Tissue of Silver and Invisible to See, (and if you haven't read them, where the fuck have you been?) Right. So, there's this scene between Julia Roberts (who I loathe) and Jude Law where she's asking where he's been and he says something to the effect of the following:

Draco, err, Dan: I was out drinking with Harry
Anna: Harry drinks a lot.
Draco: Harry can't sleep without a drink
Anna: I think Harry's got a crush on you.
Draco: ::laughs::

Me: OMGWTFDRACO!!!

In casting news I am pleased to annouce that Clive Owen [insert drooling here] has been cast as Neville's father, Frank Longbottom, and Ricky Gervais is Neville's Uncle, Algie Longbottom. This won't be relevant in the next section, but it will be in the one after that. Also, apparently Theodore is a great fan of John Lennon, Damien Rice and Snoop Dogg. Who knew?

John Lennon, Damien Rice and Snoop Dogg all at once?

I think I kind of want to be his new best friend. *laughs*

John Lennon and Snoop Dogg, eh?

That Theodore is a mighty strange duck, now isn't he?

I cannot WAIT to see this movie. Maybe this week, I'll go see it at my beloved Arclight, since I'm going to be in town starting tuesday, leaving monday. Are you going to be around and do you want to meet for drinks or coffee or something at some point?

Holy god YES on the Dan/Larry. From the cybersex on I was just like, yes. Yes, indeed, boys.

I also thought that Anna and Alice were going to kiss when they first met. Let's make this a proper love square, people.

On the second number three: AHAHAHA. WHY DID I NOT THINK THAT IMMEDIATELY?

On Natalie: did you see Garden State? Because, um. -shuffles- She was good in that, too.

Go Theodore. Damien Rice is simply fantastic.

I still need to get his B-sides album. But "O" is a great album. That it is.

I have low expectations of closer, except for the slashy undertones. Lord knows, neither of the women can act.

...Julia Roberts (who I loathe)...
You'll get no argument there from me.

Re: point 4. Did that really happen? *bursts out laughing* Classic!

Also, apparently Theodore is a great fan of John Lennon, Damien Rice and Snoop Dogg.
And why wouldn't he be? *misses Theodore* More Thousandth Man! Whee! I am a happy, happy bunny.

Wait are you serious about Clive as Frank or is this dream casting here? Holy shit!

And yeah Julia was the reason I had to swear off - I can only take so much.
