I am having Hawaiian punch and chocolate for elevenses. Prepare the sugar rush.

My [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story is 2,600 on the nose. I am like, whoa. Just one more read-through before I upload. Uploaded story. 2,595 words. Can now freak out properly. Sweet.

You know what else makes me like, whoa? [livejournal.com profile] not_a_painter making me icons for writing Fireman!Ray. This makes me v happy. I had wanted to write some Fireman!Ray porn, but Fraser's gone all, like virginal. He wants... he's just... he's nervous. Never had a fireman before. I'm a little worried, but I hope to prevail. I mean hello, Fireman!Ray (Yes, I really like writing that, can't you tell?) Also, I have soooo much love for [livejournal.com profile] qe2 who sent me a wicked mash-up track. ::adores::

I am working on Lost-fic right now, but there was this thing going around where you take stock of what you've written this year, and I wasn't going to do it, but I changed my mind. I bent the rules though so I could include Rex.

My favorite story this year (of my own): Thousandth Man-verse, HP. What? You thought I was going to say something else? After all the time and casting and thought? Pfft. Why this one? Because I've been trying to find a place where I fit in HP-verse for a while and I feel like I've finally done that here. I've got a minor character and a non-entity and I can do whatever I like with them, and it may not appeal to everyone, but it appeals to me.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: None. I mean there are always going to be things I love that other people don't, but I'm just pretty damn grateful that I can write at all, and if I can bring a little enjoyment to somebody else, well then, that makes me pretty fucking happy.

Most fun story: The Happiest Place on Earth, The O.C. I enjoy writing, I wouldn't do it otherwise, but there are those times when I just fucking love what I do and this story made me laugh so hard in production that I didn't care if anybody else ever saw it.

Sexiest story: Oral Fix, due South. I could barely even sit still long enough to write the damn thing.

Story with single sexiest moment: Also Known As, Alias/HP X-over. This story was written as a joke -- but it still fucking works, which just makes me so fucking happy you have no idea. I mean come on, Neville Longbottom/Julian Sark? So, not supposed to happen, and the sexiest part isn't even explicit, but the idea of Neville licking the traces of gunpowder off Sark's fingers makes my head want to explode.

Hardest story to write: Water Everywhere, due South. For a lot of reasons this story nearly killed me. Well, it was either me or [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma. This was the first dS story I ever wrote, and Fraser and I just were so not buddies. It made me so frustrated I wanted to shoot us both.

Most telling story: The last proper Smallville story I ever wrote: Square One. As far as swan songs go; I could've done a lot worse.

My best story this year: Uh. I don't know. You tell me, what'd you like?

I don't think I can possibly pick my favourite of your stories this year :)

This meme looks hard to do.

I thought it would be really hard, but the thing is that even though I produce a lot of stuff there's very little of it I am genuinely proud of. I like my stuff, but nothing is stellar and I'm not sure I even have a favourite story. I'm just partial to them and their flaws.

Granted, I haven't read your HP fic yet, but for me, your strongest story this year was Square One. And I'm especially glad you put up a link to it, because I couldn't remember who it was who wrote it for this recs list I'm compiling and its been gratingggggg.

Man. Still--so well done and amazing.

Thousandth Man, definitely. I do have major love for your Lotrips fics around the Oscars, but Thousandth Man just blew me away.

I was thinking about some of that too, and I quite liked it, I must say :)

Thousandth Man verse hands down. Because each piece works alone and as an ensemble piece. One of my favorite pieces of fan fiction period. To take a minor character and basically own him like you've done is no small feat. Your Nott is THE Nott as far as I am concerned. Anyone else's rendition is just not on.

Thousandth Man is great because not only do you get to go whole hog with creation in the HPverse, but you get to go whole hog with this completely unknown character -- and get half of LJ wanting to have his illegitimate love children. In my book, that's one hell of a mark of distinction. *g*

Now that's quite the achivement there, I have to say.

Chose the best story of yours? The best? That -- that's just -- I think my brain's going to explode just thinking about it. Seriously, I need to find a day where I can just go through all the stories that you've written in fandoms that I don't normally read, because I love your writing style that much.

Also, I remember reading The Happiest Place On Earth ages ago and reccing it to a fellow RL OC fan who fell in love with it, even though she wasn't into slash.

I love that you did this year rundown, cuz it's reminded me of Also Known As and how much I adore that 'verse. So funny, and so hot, and I'm just sure there's a novel hiding in there about Rambaldi being a wizard or something.

Was Telegraph Ave this year? Cuz that's still one of my alltime favorite stories. I like so much of your writing, it's really hard to pick just one.

Alas, no, TA was last year, but it kinda does feel like this year too doesn't it? Also, I see you trying to be tricksy with the Neville/Sark thing ;)

I don't have a lj account, and so feel a bit shy about posting a comment. But I can tell you this. I think that you are incredibly talented as a writer. I love your crisp, clean style so much that I check in just about every day to see whether you've posted something new. And your Thousandth-Man verse? A thing of genius. Thanks for keeping us all entertained. You're the best. Dee.

Oh, Thousandth Man, without question. The way you took a minor character and ran with him was just.. Oooh. Characterisation, the underlying mechanics of the relationships... I could go on, but I believe Livejournal cuts comments after a certain length.

Honourable mention go to the Telegraph Avenue coda, which induced a glass-shattering array of squees (Is that the plural of squee?). That story got me into the OC fandom. That story got me into Fandom with a capital F. To get more Seth/Ryan of such calibre was a wonderful present.

And for sheer gall, mention must go tho the Neville/Sark fic. Only you, dear [livejournal.com profile] hackthis, only you.
