Music time!

Ahem. Does anybody have an mp3 of U2's 'City of Blinding Lights' that they really really want to send me now? Please?*
In return I offertwo three artists you may not have heard of, but who, I think, will make your lives better:
a) 4 Hero -- Brought to my attention by
aurgasm, 4 Hero is a ambient/electronica group fronted by two DJs who used to be into hip-hop in the 80s. They get these astounding female vocalists to come in and sing over their beats, and you would think because of their backgrounds that the music would be hard, but it's smooth and uplifting and really gorgeous. Another Day feat. Jill Scott, Les Fleur (the single),
b) Amos Lee -- Also brought to my attention by
aurgasm*, you know I can't have a post without pimping some indie singer/songwriter with a deep, soulful sexy voice that sings my favorite kind of stuff -- sad bastard music (TM). This would be him. Arms of a Woman, Dreaming
Bonus
The Reindeer Section -- The Scottish supergroup with the Irish singer. The Reindeer Section is fronted by Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol!) with music by members of Belle & Sebastian, Arab Strap & Mogwai: Grand Parade, Your Sweet Voice
Tracks from Fiona Apple's long-delayed album, Extraordinary Machine, that the record company won't put out because they don't think it's commercial enough: Get Him Back & Not About Love
* You could also send me random stuff you think I'd like. It's been two whole months since you lot have brightened up my music collection.
** You should prolly just join

BTW, the text on your icon looks dodgy - did you upload it from on a slow connection? Only it seems to have degraded.
Love the 4 Hero tracks - just what I feel like listening to tonight.

Lake Trout: (gotta give em a little bit)

Jonatha Brooke: (it's a simple little sad as hell melody with beautiful harmonies, no crazy vibrato I promise)

Eisley: (just that same beautiful angsty minor melody I adore)

Date: 2005-03-17 08:50 pm (UTC)Something Pretty is one of the loveliest ballads I've heard in a long time. Drive is pure sex. Waters of March makes me want to walk around in the spring sunshine loving the world and ogling young men, and Just a Ride is a peppy bit of fun. Enjoy.
