[livejournal.com profile] bexless reports that FOX has 'unofficially' canned Kitchen Confidential. There are no words for how depressed I am now. I only watch three shows on network television. Now it's two. You wound me to the quick, FOX, a thousand hexes on your heads and babies on spikes in your parking lot!

May all your Beemers break down on the 405 during rush hour!!

It's okay, chickens, what the idiots failed to mention was that KC was going hiatus, like every other FOX show, because they are airing baseball nonsense.

I'm still hoping that the 'unofficial' could mean a faint glimmer of hope.

Le sigh :(

I knew there had been "noises" because the numbers weren't that big, but but -- FOX is so fucking cancel happy; they've always been heartless bastards (thinks of Fastlane) I just, this show is fucking fantastic, and I think it would be such a sin to axe it. Unless FX picks it up and makes it rilly gay.

No! The hotness that is Bradley Cooper must be on television at all times. I have spoken, so must it be. (What do you mean it doesn't work that way?)

We all could use more of those Gallactica boys, oh yes. And the package wasn't here on Saturday -- I'll go down and check again on my way out in an hour. *crosses fingers*

FOX shows a lot of good shows but why the FUCK is it such a dumbass network? Gah. Seriously.

I'm hoping it'll still be on tonight so I can download it tomorrow morning. Wah.

PS. The oddest thing just occurred to me - Jim's actor was in NBC's Freaks & Geeks, a really funny show that also got cancelled. The kid brings bad karma? Haha, doubt it, but just a thought that randomly came to me.

Bradley Cooper was in Jack and Bobby, right? And *that* got cancelled too.

It's like the Curse of the Somerhalder, but double strength.

And these guys can actually act.

And the shows are good, too. Pfft. :/

It's okay, we are okay, it's not cancelled just on hiatus during baseball playoffs.

Yeah, I just saw that article in the Times and had to re-read that sentence twice due to disbelief. But I haven't found cancelation mentioned anywhere else (admittedly after a rather brief search); here's hoping they got their facts wrong.

This is why FOX sucks. They don't ever give a show a chance to find its audience. Two episodes and they make up their minds. I mean, say what you will about the WB, but at least when they spend the money on a show, they give them at least a little time to find footing and an audience.

Hrm. I'm still seeing it scheduled, and I haven't seen reports on any of my standard go-tos (tv.com, dark horizons, aicn, coming soon), so it's possible that it's just gossip.

*crosses fingers*

The most amazing thing is that I still manage to be surprised by Fox. Gah.

Two episodes! Soon they'll just air a teaser before yanking it for more American Idol.

I am happily sitting in denial, refusing to believe my beloved new t.v. show has been canceled. It's lovely here really, in it I am twenty pounds lighter and America doesn't suck.

Desperate Housewives Plans a Wedding; Plus, Scoop on Whether Michael Vartan Will Return!

Oct. 3, 2005

This week, a woman of Wisteria Lane heads toward marital bliss (or something like it), while Alias' Vaughn might not be so dead after all. Plus, Prison Break's nuptials aren't what they seem, two Nip/Tuck characters are outed, and the Others on Lost are deadlier than you might think.

a d v e r t i s e m e n t

Did you ever know that you're my tubers? And everything I wish I could be? I can fly higher than an eagle, and give you the scoop on poor M.V...So, Q me!

From bookworm7: I can't believe Vaughn is dead on Alias! Please tell me he will be back on the show!
As we all know, no one ever really dies on Alias. (How many times did Spy Madre come back from the grave? Hmmm?) So, if there's one show on television where you can sustain multiple rounds of a machine gun to the chest, flatline, have a funeral and still come back, it is, of course, Alias! However, at this point, I cannot tell you if Vaughn is dead for good, because in all honesty, I don't think the producers yet know...and though I've tried to channel my LaToya Jackson psychic side, so far, nothing's coming through.

From mary: Will Vartan come back? Answer us!
Okay, here is what I know: Michael Vartan is definitely no longer a series regular, and when he was written off the show, I don't think there were any plans at that time to bring him back. However, at some point in the past month or so (this is SLIGHTLY SPOILERISH so read only if you want to know), Alias' producers did ask Michael to come back for one to three episodes later in the season. So far as I know he hasn't signed. But if I were a betting girl, I'd put my money--lots of it--on some kind of return at some point for our beloved M.V. So, bottom line: Sit tight.

From Bethany_Young: If there is ever an official, true version of what went on behind Michael Vartan's departure, please let us know. It makes a big difference to us loyal tubers!
I hear you. But sadly, in all honesty, there is no "official" version. All I can tell you is that I have friends/sources who work on all sides of Alias, and here is what they've told me over the past several weeks:

According to Camp Alias (people who actually work on the show), the departure was Michael's doing. He wanted to leave the show to pursue other projects.

According to Camp Vartan (those friendly with M.V.), though, granted, Michael was somewhat miserable last season with all the Garfleck/shooting nude shower scenes with an ex understandable awkwardness, Michael did not choose to leave the show and was told by JJ Abrams that he was being let go for creative reasons, that they weren't sure what else to do with his character.

According to Camp Garner (those friendly with J.G.), Jennifer was actually sad to see M.V. leave (as was the rest of the cast, who I've heard feel it's not the same without him there).

So, all I can tell you is that the "official" truth is probably a little bit of all of the above.

From perseeu: Is Vartan really starring on Kitchen Confidential?
Yes! He shoots this Friday and Monday, playing a French (Oui! Oui!) chef. And by the way, Kitchen Confidential has not been canceled. It's going on hiatus for baseball and a few outlets erroneously reported it was off the schedule for good. Tune into E! News at 7 p.m. on Tuesday to find out about another show Bradley Cooper might show up on...

well, thank GOD. Posting this wonderful news now, though we should be aware that ratings are dangerously low anyway... perhaps a few postcards to Fox would not be misguided?
