I am rather stupendously busy at the moment. I doubt I'll have much fannish activity until Nathan comes back – oh, please, for Nathan there could be hot coal walking – but I did want to say a couple things.

a) For people who perhaps can't get donations to Canada for one reason or another in [livejournal.com profile] thamiris' memory, might I suggest a donation to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Fund? I admit being biased because this is one of the charities I donate to on a semi-regular basis, but just think about it. One in FOUR women will get breast cancer in their lifetime – that might be your mother or your sister or your partner or your friend or someone you've never met, but who has changed your life anyway -- everything we can do to make that a little less likely is a good thing.

b) Someone made a really good point the other day – possibly [livejournal.com profile] musesfool or [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis -- that maybe the best way to honor [livejournal.com profile] thamiris, Queen of Smoking Hot Porn, would be to write some Smoking Hot Porn in her memory, and as soon as I remember how to write, I'm totally on that bus.

c) I CANNOT FIND AMERICONE DREAM AT ANY FUCKING STORE! What the hell Ben & Jerry's?

d) So. Entourage. Sunday night. SO. MUCH. LOVE. Ari, baby, I have missed you like a body part.

e) Friday Night Lights last night? Okay, I am finally on the Coach and Mrs Coach train. Seriously. I am all the way on, no feet hanging off the back, sitting in my seat and ordering a drink. Mad love for all parties involved. Please bring back my show, Asshats at NBC!

f) [livejournal.com profile] linaerys ran a Nathan/Peter Fic-a-thon challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] flyingpetrellis', which you know, HOT DAMN, so I have a few recommendations from that.

1. Sparky's Icarus Is Just This Boy I Know blew me away so badly that when it was over I kind of wanted to hide. I know I talk about [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 all the time as part of my endorsement deal – I mean as part of my slavish devotion, but even for her this story is some next level of here-let-me-lick-your-boots type of story. I just – it's so impossibly gorgeous and heart-rending. I love Greek Mythology and the way Sparky's wrapped that up with Nathan and Peter and all the ways that Nathan wants to be there and just feels like he's failing.

2. [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore. Relics of Childhood. I'm sorry, do I even have to tell you anything else if you know that Lenore wrote it? I mean obviously it will be sensationally written, stupendously hot, and so spot on that your teeth will hurt.

3. And last, but obviously not least, Stepped Out Of A Stranger, by the hostess with the mostess, [livejournal.com profile] linaerys. As I read this story I really thought it was about Peter and Nathan, but it's not. I mean obviously it *is*, but at the same time it's about much more. It's about politics and people, and how a person is smart but people are stupid, and how you can have the best intentions and everything can get shot to shit anyway, and how OMG!Goverment!SUXXORS!. Plus, it has God. Err, Linderman. Just fucking ready it already.

f) And last, but never ever least, five songs I've been listening to non-stop:
Greg Laswell 'Sing, Theresa Says'; Teddybears f/Mad Cobra 'Cobrastyle'; John Lee Hooker 'Dimples'; Kaiser Chiefs 'Everything is Average Nowadays; Jeffrey Foucault 'Ghost Repeater'

Oh, dear. I saw him pigging out on that stuff the other night, and immediately decided I should get some this week, especially since it's the right time of month for me to overdo it on ice cream. BUT WHAT IF THE STORE DOESN'T HAVE ANY????

Second post down in this thread (http://www.colboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=20383) at colbertnation.com has a list of everywhere it should be available in the states. Perhaps one of the stores is near you?

after looking for ages, right before Easter I found it in my Stop & Shop. If you came over Zahra, I would share with you. *smiles sweetly*

I mean seriously, I can't believe more places aren't stocking it, and assure you, if I had Nathan at my disposal I'd fly over right now and -- oh, wait, don't turn around -- I'm still digging around in your freezer. Oooh, look! Where do you keep the spoons?

Yes, maybe we should have a pornathon. The word Otherness is in the title of this post...so, I wonder who hijacked this journal...

No, George, I am not having some existentialist discussion with you, especially since you end up doing all the talking anyway.
