Today is my Five (5) Year El Jay anniversary. That means that five years ago -- before a lot of you were even BORN! -- some crack pusher named latxcvi got ahold of my impressionable blogging self -- y'all remember when we blogged and used mailing lists? -- and said in her most alluring voice, "I have an LJ code, you want it?"

See, back in our day you had to have a code to get an LJ. Old skool bitter fandom queens holler if you hear me! Most of you are probably like, wow, I bet you didn't have running water either. (We didn't. We got our shit from a well!) But along came LaT with her crack, and I said, sure, because I was innocent and impressionable (ethrosdemon, shut up!) and thought LJ was just another fad, like Blurty, or Greatest Journal, or whatever the hell everybody's on these days.

Guess I was wrong (yet again).

Five years later I have posted 1,402 journal entries (mostly about Nathan or Seth or Draco or Neville or Lex or Ari), 28,392 comments, and recieved 43,430 in return. We gotta get you a girl, mate.

I have a website that I haven't updated in, oh, eight months (my bad) and the number of stories and drabbles in my memories is around 500 -- and that's just the stuff I tagged. I can't even imagine how much time or pages in Word that is. Can I bill someone for this? Is today the day I throw in the proverbial towel? Will I ever stop wanting to write about the fucked up male characters? Has someone finally cloned Adrian Pasdar? These pressing questions keep me here.

Well, those and you guys, so thanks for the five years that I swore weren't even going to last five months. Thank you to ethrosdemon and obsessedmuch for taking a chance on a crazy sycophant. Thank you latxcvi for bringing the good crack. Thank all of you for reading and commenting and art and icons and cossetting and smacking me around when the occasion called for it. Thank you for being a wonderfully supportive flist, it's truly my pleasure to be your hack writer.
