I hate posting things when I don't know what I'm doing with them, that's why the Chuck story is gone, but here's something everyone can participate in.
I'm trying to broaden my horizons as it were, so tell me, What websites do you visit every day?. You can give me one, or five or twenty, but at least tell me a bit about them and why you like them and why you recommend them.
In return I will tell you that:
a) The new Gnarls Barkley album is expected out in April. I dunno the title or the exact date, but I know it's coming.
b) Adele is the love child of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. Not unlike Kate Nash. I can't remember who first brought her to my attention, but keep an ear out. She was brought to my attention by
soul_cake_duck, and here are the two songs I have from her (and some other shit I've been listening to as well): The Adele + Zip
c) If you are not watching American Gladiators you are SO missing out. Clearly Wolf is Sabertooth from the X-Men on network TV, just with way more charisma.
d) PSYCH is back on Friday! Watch it!
e) The Wire is back! Bunk! McNulty! Kima! OMAR!!!!!

Date: 2008-01-08 07:35 pm (UTC)I mostly visit the following sites every day:
- PeaceCorps.gov (http://www.peacecorps.gov) because, well, duh.
- MyESPN (http://myespn.go.com/) because my sports scores must be personalized and organized, thank you very much.
- Cute Overload (http://www.cuteoverload.com/) because my adorable animals must also be organized by category. And it's an instant cure for sadness, disease, tooth aches, hang nails and anything else that might be bothering you.
- MSNBC (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/) sos I don't look dumb when people talk about world events. (Also, more sports scores!)
- Fire Joe Morgan (http://www.firejoemorgan.com/) even though baseball is like my third favorite sport or something. They are just so funny and mean to stupid sports writers, it brings me much glee.
- Go Fug Yourself (http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/) which totally does not need an explanation because of how it is universally know to be awesomesauce.
After going over that list, I am surprised that my head is not actually just filled with cotton candy.

Date: 2008-01-08 07:50 pm (UTC)SSA - that is, the Smallville Slash Archive: http://smallville.slashdom.net/ this is actually my homepage
Obviously, I check my email at hotmail.com
ALSO, my school email at the school site; ljmu.ac.uk
Otherwise, I think my flist here at lj is the only place I check EVERYday.
If I've been away from the computer for several days, I will usually check a few SPECIFIC places on lj for updates:
This TW/DW fic - http://sarkywoman.livejournal.com/73914.html is a current fav of mine
I also check
I also have the following Spander fics bookmarked, and check them regularly:
http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=jans_intentions&keyword=seven&filter=all
user=amejisuto&keyword=Hold+Me.+Thrill+Me.+Kiss+Me.+Kill+Me+S/X&filter=all
http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=virtualpersonal&keyword=Fic+-+Awaken+%28Spike/Xander%29&filter=all
http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=tabaqui&keyword=DogsofWar&filter=all
http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=daedream_fanbot&keyword=Felon+Fodder&filter=all
And I recently found THIS: http://1-more-try.livejournal.com/tag/ttw
A H/D fic; haven't been reading loads of this pairing recently, but its great and I've been checking up every few days for updates.
Until she got out of the CLex fandom, I used to check this site, every day:
http://improper.goneamiss.org/
Still some brilliant fic there, in spite of my mourning for the abandoned WIPs!
Highly doubt this is what you were expectly, but it allowed me to pass some time when I should have been revising, so ta!

Date: 2008-01-08 07:52 pm (UTC)http://jezebel.com/ You've seen the stuff i've forwarded you, right? Also, the one called Moe reminds me of Kassie, if Kassie, er, proofread herself first (Hi, K!).
Lucky style blog: http://www.luckymag.com/shopping/blogs/shop/
and
Lucky beauty blog: http://www.luckymag.com/shopping/blogs/beauty/
...to feed my materialist impulses.
http://gridskipper.com/ The New York stuff, mainly, because sometimes I learn something, and sometimes I just laugh, like at the post about the worst waitstaff in Brooklyn. (Ditto Gawker, the original)
http://www.boingboing.net/ Because sometimes they have cool stuff
http://www.nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/ Because I often learn something, and the commenters are frighteninly intelligent. also, their sidebar links are great.
http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/go_fug_yourself/ Duh.
http://cuteoverload.com/
http://icanhascheezburger.com/
You don't need to ask about those last two, right?

Date: 2008-01-08 07:53 pm (UTC)I visit IMDB.com every day. My conversation is constantly laced with references to TV and movies but I have no head for remembering the names of the actors in them -- it's such a relief that I can drop the movie's name in the box and all is revealed.
I used to visit televisionwithoutpity.com a lot, but I'm not sure I like it under its new Bravo overlords.
For cute & funny animals, I check out icanhascheezburger.com every so often, and cuteoverload.com every day (I have a feed of it on my flist).

Date: 2008-01-08 08:24 pm (UTC)I view almost all of these through Google Reader, because I've learned to love RSS feeds.

http://www.monoscope.com/ (design-oriented)
http://www.shorpy.com (old-time pictures, with attendant social and economic implications. I've learned more about life in the U.S. pre-WWII from this site than I ever did in school)

Cute Overload
http://www.cuteoverload.com/
pictures of small/baby/cute animals. what more does one need to start the day off right?
Making Light

The owner edits all cursess. Between the stories and the forums, I can amuse myself at work by laughing at other people's painful stories when no one is looking over my shoulder at work.
