Things to talk about.

I continue to have zero desire to write. No, actually, it's less than zero, because it's almost like anti-desire. What is that? Chastity? I am writing chaste! That doesn't sound right, does it?

Let's talk about other things, shall we?

1. I finally saw There Will Be Blood and I have to say that a) I am not a Daniel Day-Lewis fan and b) I still want a refund for No Country For Old Men, because frankly, if I wanted to see someone suck their own dick, I could find it for less than $11 on the net. I digress. Um, my real question... was There Will Be Blood supposed to be as gay as it was, because I gotta tell you, for the first 2/3s I was like, "You're imagining it" and then towards the end? So not imagining it.

In fact, when Daniel was at the train station as Eli was leaving and they kept eye fucking I could just hear the conversation they'd had the night before about Eli saving him and Daniel not wanting to be saved and the angry sex because Eli was leaving anyway.

That's totally why he killed him with that bowling pin, because he left him.



2. Is there fic out there for Wonderfalls, because I feel like you lot have been holding out on me. I want a Mike! And Jaye makes me think of antheia, like a lot. Also, Lee Pace is incredibly lanky. He's so all arms and legs. It's so damn hot.

3. After separating from Battlestar Galactica last year when Sci-Fi went all stupid with the time slot change, we reunited with hot marathon sex last week. I had forgotten the power of naked Helo. And Starbuck. But mostly just Starbuck. Katee Sackhoff, you can make me gay anytime you want. Anyroad.

Anders? I'd do him.

The Chief? Well, I've always wanted to do him.

Cally? Yeah, okay, still crazy annoying. But now she's married to a Cylon.

Much like the lovely Ms Kara Thrace... who would be more than happy to put a bullet in her man's head. Poor Anders, he's so besotted.

Now I know there's been talk that obviously the Cylons took Kara for her two months, but people, please. The Cylons are not stupid enough to send Kara back in a brand new ship. Think on that for a minute. No, I dunno where she went, but I HIGHLY doubt she was with them. Maybe she met fell through a worm hole and met up with the SGA people. And I already wrote that story.

Speaking of Anders. He married Kara knowing "how she is" and that he's second best and he did it anyway. That's uh, that's interesting. Cylons sure are devoted *Six*. If you don't love me enough in this life, maybe you will in the next five or ten.

My money for the last Cylon is on one of the big four: Kara, The Old Man, the Prez or Lee. It has to be someone big, because anything less is just going to be a let down. They've been building from outer circle unsuspected to inner circle unsuspected and who's more inner circle than those four?

Honestly? If I had to put money down, I actually think I'd bet on Gaeta as the last Cylon.

I've always thought there was something ever so slightly hinky about Gaeta. I admit, I had doubts during the whole Caprica situation, so I'm perfectly willing to admit I could be off-base, but still. I wouldn't be shocked if it were him.

I agree with what sizequeen said about Gaeta = 12 cylon = meh. They've been building up this anticipation for this final reveal and with Gaeta I just keep thinking, what as he done, what has he influennced, who has he influenced that would make this such a big deal. And I come up with NOBODY.

Tigh is Adama's Life Partner right-hand. The Cheif is in charge of maintaining all the fleet's protection. Rory is the president's right-hand and Anders is a) resistance man 101 and b)married to Kara. They are all attached to someone huge.

Gaeta just doesn't fill that for me at all.

See, Rory made next to no impression on me until the very last few episodes. I actually didn't even know her name until just now. Hence, my reaction to her as being first "meh" and then belatedly "well, that could maybe be interesting."

For Gaeta, though, first of all, he totally sold out Balthar in his trial, don't forget. I wouldn't say that that was non-influential in terms of a) previous characterization and b) what may be happening with Balthar in the future. Also, he's been around since the very beginning, he's the one who did a lot of the initial calculations for all the jumps they were having to make, including when the Cylons were chasing after them in "33". He's *always around* and yet kind of in the background--he's the kind of guy who knows everything about everything but you don't realize how much he knows because he's always just kind of there in the background. In terms of what kind of damage he could have done/continue to do as a Cylon, we just don't know, but I can totally see him as being the "he was always so quiet and polite, who would have thought?" candidate here.

So maybe it's all in what you pay attention to.

I'm not convinced, but I will concede the point about selling Baltar out at his trial. Now that could just be spurned lover activity or it could be a manipulation to influence Baltar's religious views, because it certainly worked. I RILLY want to read Baltar's book.

You've seen it, I take it? The first two thirds I enjoyed, but the minute the last third kicked in at the hotel, it was like a completely different movie. I wondered if one brother had shot the first bit and then the other had shot the second bit and they just taped it together in the editing booth. The POV completely changed. You can't lead me all the way to water and then suddenly say, ooooh look, palm trees. I'm not looking for fricking palm trees. And the ending was for shit. What the hell does Tommy Lee Jones telling some story in his trailer have to do with anything that came in the movie before? Seriously. It sucked. I want a refund, and so did everyone else in the theatre with me.

I also saw There Will Be Blood this week. My friend is nuts for the movie and she told me about the film's fandom and it sounded nuts (not necessarily in a good way!) but if you would write it, I would so be all over it.

It was slashy. In a non-obvious way, but still.

Well thank God Ari, because now I don't have to make horrible attempts. But really, I think the only other avenue there would be if Starbuck(!!) went to Terminator Earth and met Future John who is totally screwing Derek and is like "yeah, okay, we're totally not going to Earth now, the ships are turning the fuck around".

I think I want to be a fly on the wall when Derek and Kara start bitching about Terminators/Cylons and who's worse because we all know it'll digress into "...and then I got this scar when I..."

I was totally going to write a Terminator/BSG comment instead of the BSG/SGA one that she went to Earth and met up with Derek and they had crazy hot sex! But I couldn't imagine Kara finding post!Skynet Apocalypse Earth and being excited to take other people there.

She knocks him out so he's all pliant and unconcious, contorted into the back of the viper because if he were awake he would fight and if he fought he wouldn't fit and he would fight because he wouldn't want to leave but what does he have to stay for? A shitty life where his brother was sent to the past to die? Besides, Starbuck reasons with herself as she points her restored-to-practically-mint Viper towards the tear in space, she needs some sort of proof that Earth is really not going to work out as the new home for the colonies. She's been gone for too long for them to just take her word on it.

There seems to be a woeful lack of Wonderfalls fic out there, but perhaps I am just not looking in the right places. However, Yuletide has produced a not-inconsiderable number (from this year's stories I especially liked "Jesus Complex" and "Requiem for a Brass Monkey"), and it looks like polyfandomrecs has a tag for it, so those might be places to start, at least.

I would totally buy that. Zak would be profoundly awesome, but the other two would also be pretty damn great. If it's Lee, then Kara will put a bullet in his head because she lurves him, and then he'll come back, and it will be even MORE fucked up dysfunctional love. That would be the best conversation.
