It seems that I am so enamoured of Life on Mars that I've decided it's better than anything else on telly at the moment... which is probably why I'm watching it AGAIN.

I feel confused. Is this love? Where are my icons? Will someone make me one that says Protected by Armed Bastards since 1973? or Guantanamo Bay isn't in Spain. or Annie loves you? Or Gene Hunt is love.

Um, speaking of love [livejournal.com profile] trinityofone recommended We Could Steal Time by [livejournal.com profile] dorcas_gustine, which is not only the best Life on Mars story I've read bar none, but may also be the best story I've read this year. Yeah, it's just that good. Go read it. Now. You know I don't steer you wrong.

While we're on about stories, [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 is single-handedly trying to make my head explode over here with plot bunnies. Naked Tony Stark! Stephen Colbert with wings! I've already done the Ianto/George thing, except Ianto left George to have alien babies with Matt, so there went that. However. Before you start a riot. Yes, there is naked Tony Stark on the horizon. Stay tuned to this channel for further developments.

And back to Life on Mars for a minute, does anyone have the soundtracks and would you please please please share them with me? No, I cannot promise that this will lead to LoM fic, I can't say it wouldn't happen either. [livejournal.com profile] lazlet look alive!

It occured to me last night that U.S. summer programming is WAY better than the broadcast season. Seriously, what's coming up? Burn Notice. Project Runway S5. Psych. Generation Kill (The new David Simon on HBO - he created The Wire). AND Weeds.

I don't get this much action during the rest of the year. BRING IT!

I'm so glad you liked that story. I'm trying to think of more recs for you, but unfortunately there aren't too too many fics that really speak to me—a lot of it's just not my style, you know? Also, I have a terrible memory. I am thinking, though!

In the meantime, join [livejournal.com profile] tunedinto1973. All the music from the series, hooray!

Yes, well, since your taste has proved to be sublime, I will totally take one great one over 10 mediocre ones. ;-)

can we have ari's views on George splitting up from his latest beard?

I think the only person surprised by George breaking up with yet another stripper was the stripper herself. Ari was just like that's nice, are we coming out now?

I find myself wanting really badly to make some kind of "the stripper never sees it coming" joke, but they all sound lame even in my head.

curses!

I can upload the first season album for you if you like. It's addictive! As is Ashes to Ashes. I find myself singing 'Vienna' at random intervals

A2A isnt as good as LoM, but Gene is completely, wonderfully AWESOME in it. Especially the last episode. But yes, LoM is one of the best things ever shown on TV. John Simm is completely wonderful, and I now fangirl him liek woah :D

I can have the OST for you in about an hour if the upload keeps at the pace its at

[livejournal.com profile] lazlet has provided an upload for me, but thank you so very much for the offer! (I really did want to watch AtA, because Gene is just that magnificent.)

Full series 1 soundtrack via bitorrent. (http://www.mininova.org/tor/613292)
I compiled my series 2 soundtrack on my own, and it would've been a nightmare if not for the fact that the show is the most fabulous collection of 70s tracks.

It's kind of strange but fun to be in this position of looking forward so much to summer programming (Burn Notice!!) I will have to investigate this generation kill of which you speak. Thanks for the heads up.

(And yay for naked Tony Stark on the horizon)

I've not seen much of Generation Kill, but since this is David Simon I can't imagine it not being very good. Very harrowing, but good.
