Oh, L..., this is just... *waves hand around vaguely* I don't even know. This whole scene is just so incredibly poignant. Natalie's pointedly 'mine!' behavior, Nate's distraction, the way Brad feels that distraction acutely when he's so used to being the only planet in Nate's orbit, the star constellations that they did with the protractor -- my heart kind of stuttered at the perfection of that.

Pretty much every memory Brad has is connected to Nate, and everything before Nate doesn't seem to matter. The problem is that his "before Nate" and "after Nate" has been subdivided into "before Natalie" and "after Natalie". Even today - what should have been an awesome day of throwing the ball and seeing who could do the stupidest frisbee tricks was marred by Nate's half-assed tosses because he was too busy kissing Natalie to throw the fucking ball.

This paragraph is just stunning. And now I'm like "see, this is what happens when you let L play in your sandbox, she creates something beautiful and you feel like a hack!" and yet, I am okay with that, because I can see Brad with this pillow, feel his want, oh shit. Why do you make me look so bad and not even care?

First of all - Pfffft. Like you said to me the other day, we all have our things. One of my fortes is that I can angst shit up like nobody's business. I take that side of things (which isn't to say you don't because there's some majorly painful and poignant things in "Get Some" that you brought on your own damn self) and bring it to the fore, and that's all.

Also, did I mention I have a thing about the pining?
