i learned a new language tonight - jibberish. really, it's what i started spouting around the time i started bouncing on the sofa and smacking myself in the forehead. lex going imperial, clark going hardcore!teenager, chloe looking so cute.
this was not the episode to have two loads of laundry running, for real.
now everybody's got that *something* that smallville does that either takes years off their lives or makes them reach for the post-coital cigarette. for me? it was the music.
i have been calling for the music coordinators eyeballs since metamorphosis when the only decent song they played was weezer's 'island in the sun.' but this week, it wasn't the superman theme that got me, it was that they played songs that actually *FIT* in with the mood of the show.
i went into spasms when the played coldplay's 'the scientist' in the talon. i've only used that song as inspiration 10-15 times for drabbles. and then. ::takes deep breath:: then they played another song...one that had me flinging every cd i own onto the floor trying to remember where the hell it came from and then it hit me...
'...this is where the story ends...'
ladies and gentlemen, RYAN MOTHERFUCKING ADAMS on Smallville. The song is called 'Nuclear' and it's off Demolition.
oh. yes. happy day.
i have to go get the laundry now.

Date: 2003-02-26 09:01 am (UTC)I've seen a few vids for 'The Scientist' and they've all be quite good, but I remember wayyyy back in the day when the name coldplay inevitably lead to questions about new refrigerators and mp3 systems so the fact that they've been used not once, but *twice* on SV tends to make me a bit gobsmacked.

SV is music hell.
Yes, I agree.
