Over in her LJ, [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore mentioned being stuck indoors for a blizzard and how she thought it would be a great opportunity to spend some time getting to know some of the new people on my flist. Which I whole-heartedly agree.

So...tell me something about you. Favorite character. Favorite food. Something funny you do. Whatever you like. Just make it something that gives me a sense of who you are.

There's no pressure to participate, of course. If you'd rather just lurk, that's fine, too. But if you feel like coming out of the woodwork, I'd love to hear from you!

I think I do this like once a year and since I'm feeling a bit sour, and this exercise always makes me smile, I'll start...

1. I drink like six glasses of water a day,
2. I still read Smallville stories even though I don't watch the show anymore.
3. I love potatoes.
4. I love turtles; I plan to buy one as soon as I can afford the damn terrarium.
5. I think I would rather be blind than deaf since I can't imagine not listening to music.

*bonus for the new folks
6. I dislike cats. A lot. I'm allergic to them, and believe they are actually evil creatures bent on world domination. As I am also bent on world domination, waiting on [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon to take it over, you can see why this is a problem. <-- gacked and bastardizard from [livejournal.com profile] musesfool

*Please keep in mind that you don't have to participate if you don't want to, and that this isn't about me responding, but you know, about sharing. I know somebody out there must know what that word means.

**ETN: I meant to mention this ages ago, but the LJPTB are reimbursing paid users an additional two weeks of time due to last week's outage or shortage or whatever it's being called. If you pay, use this, and people I've bought account time you better fucking use this for real, I want my money's worth!

They are *so* beautiful, to see them out of the water (the top halves of them while feeding) there are so many colours on their skin that you just don't see through aquarium glass. I was deeply envious of the staff members who got to dive with them (though I'm afraid of drowning, so only sorta envious!) because to swim with them must be amazing.

And yet people consistently think of them as bad things (it's all whosit's fault, the one who wrote Jaws, although he's now a shark conservationist!).
