I've been dying to show off this icon for days (courtesy of abbycadabra), but I thought it would help to have something a bit more substantive to accompany it. So. I'm getting ready to go on holiday for a bit, and my ability to write has already departed for said destination. I'd planned to just be off, but I saw this in musesfool's LJ and thought I might give it a go:

Name a pairing (that I'm familiar with, in a fandom I'm familiar with) and I will write one* line of a story for it. Please include a one word prompt (which may or may not be used, dunno yet, I'll have to see how it goes).

Fandoms availabile are as follows: Harry Potter, Smallville, The 4400, BSG, Spider-Man 2, X2, Lost, due South, Ocean's 11 & 12 and whatever else you've seen me write in that I've forgotten now.


*ETA: Okay, one line or six. It's hard for me to just stop unless you want the biggest run-on ever.

Year after year, Justin swans through the doors of Fletchley Hall, a lithe figure with sparks that shoot from his fingertips and Latin spells that amuse even his father. He is the Chosen One. He doesn't notice anything else. William doesn't even register -- until he does.

Justin notices for the first time in his fourth year -- William's second year -- that William's he's grown taller, and he's not quite as lithe. William is more tan, more posh. Justin's voice is cut with the commonness of his diverse classmates; William is with the best all the time. It's not the same.

In Justin's sixth year, William is no longer his exact double, he's something else entirely. He's taller, broader, more able. He's who Justin was supposed to be; he's who Justin wants to be. William doesn't have the magic, but he has this, and Justin covets. He's powerless to do anything else.
