seriously y'all, it's fucking good to be back in LA. i had to go away and take care of some stuff, and there was other stuff involved, but you know, i always make the best of things... so i went into my first wal-mart this past week. it was fucking trippy. for those of y'all who are like what do you mean your *first* wal-mart, remember i'm a city girl. any store where you can buy shampoo and a machete at the same time is a novel concept to me. (yes, i did see some dude buying a machete).

i also went into the tractor supply store. why? cos i could! and cos i knew i'd never be near another one in my life - i thought they'd sell more john deere stuff. i want a john deere shirt to wear with my leather pants. i think that'd go down a scream at barfly.

in fandom related news, i am offically in love with the HP-verse. i mean i figure i have to be with all the ideas that were popping into my head at all those inopportune times. what's even more interesting is that harry is going to be my vehicle. i love draco, why is harry wanting all this attention?

still, harry and death and draco and pablo neruda ought to be interesting.

am i the only person who hears draco when she listens to garbage's '#1 crush'?

Yay! Z's back! And wowah on the Wal-mart experience. Personally, it's a scary place I equate with right-to-lifers, shoddy American made products (tho I've heard not everything they sell is American...ha!) and retired folk who stand at the entrance and instantly make me feel like I'm going to steal something.

My parents live not to far from a John Deere dealer...next time I'm home I can peruse the ready-to-wear collections for you. And here I thought that having family out in the country had no benefits. Ha!

omg. ali, i totally wish you had been there with me. i saw these, um, overall type wader thingys it was like overalls with boots built in. it was *so* weird. they sell *everything* there... except pate. and brie. why is that?

I think it's because when one is out hunting, pushing through the swamp in one's overall waders and swinging the machete it's hard to spread pate on crackers without getting crumbs all over the place. This is probably why beef jerky is so popular. Convenient food with no crumbs!

Personally, I hear Lex. Although that may be partly blamed on Bridget's Garbage series (little ficlets 'inspired' by songs from the new Garbage album), so most Garbage songs now stick a SV chord for me. Even "Hands of Fate" (correct title? I dunno) always used to be a Nakago (Fushigi Yuugi) song for me, and is starting to sound like Lex. Yeesh.

"(Love you) til the day that I die" just makes me want to do a SV clip... except for my complete lack of vidding knowledge and crappy PC's that would not support that kinda thing.

I don't think my fanon Draco is quite dark enough for #1 Crush to fit him but each to their own.

i dunno about that, my draco is a bit on the obsessive side. lyrics like i will crawl on hands and knees until you see/ you're just like me...you will believe in me/ and i'll never be ignored scream fights in potions to me. *g*

when i think of lex i think of nirvana 'all apologies' and obviously garbage's 'the world is not enough.' lex makes me think of the chemical brothers and billie holiday and pearl jam.

Was the guy you ran into tall and redheaded? He could have been kin to me. Lower Alabama is the slang name for the part where I used to live, near north Florida.

I am just gonna say that I am more than pleased that while I was off sun tanning and swimming that you stayed true to the HP faith and didn't make back to SV. Good on you.

As for writing Harry, I wondered the same thing about myself. I *want* to write anyone *but* Harry, but he's very insistant and has a loud voice.
