You remember back in the day when 10 pages was long? I remember that. I think it has a lot to do with Generation Kill itself since it's a closed canon with such a small fandom that when you go outside you can just, well, make a mob!AU. Thank God I already wrote Trade or there'd probably be a pimps and hoes story too ;)
