It's clear to me that regardless of whatever else happens with anybody else in their lives, they make each other human. There is a connection of respect and trust that they don't get anywhere else. That to me is the best of all possible worlds. Wait, forget the Voltaire. I save Voltaire for when I'm being sarcastic after having a bad day and this shit was fucking awesome.

I am fine with the BFFs. Hell, until last night I thought of them as brother and sister, but there's just something about their connection that makes me go, "But... it could... maybe..."

Although honestly, at all the points that I think people were seeing that 'maybe' connection last night, I was picking up friendship ("Aw, that's cute, Don needs a friend like that because he doesn't have any at all") and mothering ([when he laid his head in her lap] "Don wants a mom rn, he's never actually had one").
