Okay, so I am going to write you guys Chuck/Bryce for my first story of the New Year, but I must finish up old stuff first. Namely the rest of my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide recs, which I'd meant to get to before the reveal, but whatever, y'all don't care.

Also, before I forget, if you only see one movie this year, see Juno. For real.

Eight Yuletide recs under the cut for Billy Elliot, The Devil Wears Prada, Entourage, The Stephanie Plum Series, Ocean's 11, Punditslash, Psych and The Story Wot I Wrote )
I love recommending stories. I love finding stories TO recommend. I love being so fucking excited about something that I just want everybody to see/read it RIGHT. THE FUCK. NOW.

1. Texas Forever by [livejournal.com profile] topaz119. I. Uh. Jesus, man. I don't know what to say about this story. This is the story of Tim Riggins, full stop. Friday Night Lights will eventually reveal his past and his present, but this is his future in all its Technicolor glory, and it revels in all his relationships -- Tyra, Billy, Smash, Jason, you name it. God, this is a fucking awesome story.

2. Simply a reflection of your own self by [livejournal.com profile] sinsense, which is Landry and Tim/Landry and also? Landry. Because well, is there anybody watching FNL who doesn't love Landry? Exactly. [livejournal.com profile] sinsense has this sense about Landry that just makes you go, "Oh, Landry." So, just read this and thank me later.

3. She Likes a Prizefight by [livejournal.com profile] somniesperus, which is The Devil Wears Prada movie-verse Miranda/Andy, and let me tell you, I had no idea how Telanu was going to make this work, but this story doesn't just work -- it fucking SINGS. The writing is stellar, and I was just so sad when it was over because there was no more to read.

4. Curtains Are Monogamous by [livejournal.com profile] sheldrake. This is anthropomorphic fic, and what that is, for anybody who doesn't know, is when you assign human characteristics to otherwise non-sentient or non-human objects. So there's a nice group of people who write Mac/PC fic or stories about spoons and forks. This story is about, uh, the curtains. Just read it. It was the last story I read last week and it totally gave me warm fuzzies.

5. People living in [livejournal.com profile] the_guesthouse, [livejournal.com profile] astolat made an Entourage video. Yes, I know. Try not to wet yourself. Six days until our show is back. Oh, Ari I've missed your filthy mouth. I know you nearly plotzed when George offered a $1,000,000 to the person who could prove he was out slandering David O Russell.

6. Some random chick named [livejournal.com profile] hackthis wrote Angela Petrelli with a healthy side-dose of Nathan/Peter, self-delusion, and mothering gone awry. What's Love Got to Do With It?. Heroes. Rated PG for one bad word and several mindfucks.

*Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] musesfool and [livejournal.com profile] thefourthvine for having such brilliant rec sites for trawling and such awesome taste.
a) [livejournal.com profile] astolat is writing Entourage. Fiercely awesome Entourage of the Vince/Eric stripe. There is Home Sweet Home which is house hunting and not being gay and sex and Shauna, and also The Best You Ever Had, which is just hotass porn with gold-foil E's and Chamillionaire and exhibitionism. Try not to crash her server by all reading it at once.

b) I wrote new BFFOTP Landry & Tim on Friday. My Best Friend's Girl where there is lemonade and chaps and BBQ chips and Lord of the Flies.

c) (which prolly should be a) It has come to my attention that in my half-assed watching of the first few episodes of Heroes I have missed the scene in the pilot where Mama Petrelli tells Peter that Nathan doesn't love him the way Peter loves Nathan. Um, dude. WHAT? I must see this at ONCE! Where is this scene for public viewing? Please, don't let me miss this. There are spa massages that depend on this! Well, fictional ones, but still.

ETA: I have now seen the holy land, err, scene because [livejournal.com profile] slodwick loves me. As for the scene, um, wow. That was, um, yeah. Dude. DUDE. I only re-wound it like four times.
a) Dearest person who bought me mistletoe: Awwwww! Regards, me.

b) It occurred to me that readers of FNL fic may not be aware of the existence of [livejournal.com profile] be_perfect. It was originally created for FNL The Movie fic, but has had a resurrection with FNL The Show, so you know, ease on down the road there and join up to share in the FNL fic of all stripes. Yes, Virginia, that means het too.

c) There's nothing like showing up the party four days late and then being all, YO, wait up! This is my preliminary set of [livejournal.com profile] yuletide recs, but there shall be another after the New Year, because that's what happens when you're a pimp ;) Plus, you know, with all this material to sort through I won't be writing until, like, the day after the new FNL epsiode.

15 Stories, some stocking stuffers, 11 Fandoms. Please keep in mind that I still have about nine hundred stories to read so if you're all, BITCH, how did you not recommend my story! Maybe I just haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe if you think there's something I should read you should just tell me, huh? )

*And like I said above if you think there's something I might miss because I am but one set of eyes and that a fuckload of stories, then you know, TELL ME what to read!

And also, HAPPY FUCKING NEW YEAR!!! I'll see you on the flip side with Nathan and Jason and all that fucked up goodness that makes El Jay and fandom so damn great.
1. Okay, y'all are really slipping on me here. I still need Johnny Cash 'I've Been Everywhere' and now also Talking Heads 'Once in a Lifetime' – and it's not like you won't get a return on your investment! [livejournal.com profile] epj and [livejournal.com profile] greenapricot win all the cookies!

2. This link I gacked from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn is proof that if Billy had been allowed to be his adorable dorky self, but in JEANS, Dee never would've left him for Captain Hotass. Okay, maybe that's a lie, but at least she would've thought twice!

3. Is anybody else loving these GEICO adverts? Seriously.

4. I'm so excited for Nip/Tuck tonight I could spit. <-- is that how that saying goes?

5. Group of Guys is Entourage, but without the glitz and glam and the pretty, but with perhaps the best soundtrack EVER. Duckbilled Platapus! Deep fried poptarts! Smallville cameos!! This is so the real entertainment industry.

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] defamer_atom how are you so awesome?

ETA #6: [livejournal.com profile] buggery made a manip of Uhura as Spock, and like [livejournal.com profile] musesfool said in her post, How fucking cool is that? Can you imagine how different media fandom -- hell, how different television -- would be if Spock had been a black woman? It's kind of mindblowing, innit?

Yes, very mindblowing indeed.

And! And! And! [livejournal.com profile] zoetrope made a most fantabulously adorable and hysterical SGA vid called Absolutely Cuckoo! Go! Watch it now, dammit! Tell her how brilliant she is!

Sekrit aside to [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis: It has a name. Now I'm ready to work.
